- prototypes now in standard include file
- improve initial "random" sequence number, to make it harder to guess
in long running daemons.
- fix timeout code.
- unlimited number of fd's in select.
Obtained from: a diff of FreeBSD vs. OpenBSD/NetBSD rpc code.
- Protect against select() that returns time remaining (on my systems).
