* [ALSA] emux midi synthesizer doesn't honor SOFT_PEDAL-release eventmaximilian attems2008-05-131-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When the hardware wavetable synthesizer of an Creative SB Audigy or SB Live! card (with emu10k chip) receives the MIDI SOFT_PEADAL-press event (?? 67 127) the appropriate voice is attenuted. Unfortunately when the pedal is released (event ?? 67 0) the voice does not get it's original volume again. Boolean MIDI controls should interpret 0..63 as false and 64..127 as true. Thanks to Clemens Ladisch for review and correction. * [ALSA] Remove sound/driver.hTakashi Iwai2008-01-317-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. * [PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau2007-02-142-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). | | | | | | | | | | this is about coverity id #100. It seems the if statement is negated, since the else branch calls remove_info() with sflist->currsf as a parameter where it gets dereferenced. Signed-off-by: Eric Sesterhenn <snakebyte@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
* [ALSA] add more sequencer port type information bitsClemens Ladisch2006-06-221-1/+3
| | | | | | | | Add four new information flags SNDRV_SEQ_PORT_TYPE_HARDWARE, _SOFTWARE, _SYNTHESIZER, _PORT for sequencer ports. This makes it easier for apps like Rosegarden to make policy decisions based on the port type. Signed-off-by: Clemens Ladisch <clemens@ladisch.de>

* [ALSA] seq: set client name in snd_seq_create_kernel_client()Clemens Ladisch2006-01-031-27/+2
| | | | | | | | | All users of snd_seq_create_kernel_client() have to set the client name anyway, so we can just pass the name as parameter. This relieves us from having to muck around with a struct snd_seq_client_info in these cases. Signed-off-by: Clemens Ladisch <clemens@ladisch.de>
* [ALSA] seq: remove struct snd_seq_client_callbackClemens Ladisch2006-01-031-7/+1
| | | | | | | The fields of struct snd_seq_client_callback either aren't used or are always set to the same value, so we can get rid of it altogether. Signed-off-by: Clemens Ladisch <clemens@ladisch.de>

* [PATCH] create a kstrdup library functionPaulo Marques2005-06-231-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch creates a new kstrdup library function and changes the "local" implementations in several places to use this function. Most of the changes come from the sound and net subsystems. The sound part had already been acknowledged by Takashi Iwai and the net part by David S. Miller. I left UML alone for now because I would need more time to read the code carefully before making changes there. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
