* [IRDA]: Remove irlan_eth_send_gratuitous_arp()Adrian Bunk2008-04-151-10/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Even kernel 2.2.26 (sic) already contains the #undef CONFIG_IRLAN_SEND_GRATUITOUS_ARP with the comment "but for some reason the machine crashes if you use DHCP". Either someone finally looks into this or it's simply time to remove this dead code. Reported-by: Robert P. J. Day <rpjday@crashcourse.ca> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: replace remaining __FUNCTION__ occurrencesHarvey Harrison2008-03-051-36/+36
| | | | | | | __FUNCTION__ is gcc-specific, use __func__ Signed-off-by: Harvey Harrison <harvey.harrison@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IRDA]: Use proc_create() to setup ->proc_fops firstWang Chen2008-02-291-3/+1
| | | | | | | | Use proc_create() to make sure that ->proc_fops be setup before gluing PDE to main tree. Signed-off-by: Wang Chen <wangchen@cn.fujitsu.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* Convert files to UTF-8 and some cleanupsJan Engelhardt2007-10-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Convert files to UTF-8. * Also correct some people's names (one example is Eißfeldt, which was found in a source file. Given that the author used an ß at all in a source file indicates that the real name has in fact a 'ß' and not an 'ss', which is commonly used as a substitute for 'ß' when limited to 7bit.) * Correct town names (Goettingen -> Göttingen) * Update Eberhard Mönkeberg's address (http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/1/8/313) Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org>
* [NET]: Make all initialized struct seq_operations const.Philippe De Muyter2007-07-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | Make all initialized struct seq_operations in net/ const Signed-off-by: Philippe De Muyter <phdm@macqel.be> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [SK_BUFF]: Convert skb->tail to sk_buff_data_tArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2007-04-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So that it is also an offset from skb->head, reduces its size from 8 to 4 bytes on 64bit architectures, allowing us to combine the 4 bytes hole left by the layer headers conversion, reducing struct sk_buff size to 256 bytes, i.e. 4 64byte cachelines, and since the sk_buff slab cache is SLAB_HWCACHE_ALIGN... :-) Many calculations that previously required that skb->{transport,network, mac}_header be first converted to a pointer now can be done directly, being meaningful as offsets or pointers. * [PATCH] mark struct file_operations const 8Arjan van de Ven2007-02-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Many struct file_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. * [IrDA]: Memory allocations cleanupsSamuel Ortiz2006-09-281-9/+37
| | | | | | | | This patch replaces the bunch of arbitrary 64 and 128 bytes alloc_skb() calls with more accurate allocation sizes. Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IrDA]: Use alloc_skb() in IrDA TX pathSamuel Ortiz2006-07-211-8/+8
| | | | | | | | | As pointed out by Christoph Hellwig, dev_alloc_skb() is not intended to be used for allocating TX sk_buff. The IrDA stack was exclusively calling dev_alloc_skb() on the TX path, and this patch fixes that. Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
