* tcp: prepare CC get_info() access from getsockopt()Eric Dumazet2015-04-291-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We would like that optional info provided by Congestion Control modules using netlink can also be read using getsockopt() This patch changes get_info() to put this information in a buffer, instead of skb, like tcp_get_info(), so that following patch can reuse this common infrastructure. * inet_diag: fix access to tcp cc informationEric Dumazet2015-04-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Two different problems are fixed here : 1) inet_sk_diag_fill() might be called without socket lock held. icsk->icsk_ca_ops can change under us and module be unloaded. -> Access to freed memory. Fix this using rcu_read_lock() to prevent module unload. 2) Some TCP Congestion Control modules provide information but again this is not safe against icsk->icsk_ca_ops change and nla_put() errors were ignored. Some sockets could not get the additional info if skb was almost full. Fix this by returning a status from get_info() handlers and using rcu protection as well. * net: ipv4/ipv6: Remove extern from function prototypesJoe Perches2013-10-191-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. * [TCP]: congestion control API pass RTT in microsecondsStephen Hemminger2007-07-311-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch changes the API for the callback that is done after an ACK is received. It solves a couple of issues: * Some congestion controls want higher resolution value of RTT (controlled by TCP_CONG_RTT_SAMPLE flag). These don't really want a ktime, but all compute a RTT in microseconds. * Other congestion control could use RTT at jiffies resolution. To keep API consistent the units should be the same for both cases, just the resolution should change. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. * [TCP] TCP YEAH: Use vegas dont copy it.Stephen Hemminger2007-04-251-0/+24
Rather than using a copy of vegas code, the YEAH code should just have it exported so there is common code. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
