* [IPV4]: make ip_fragment() staticAdrian Bunk2006-01-071-1/+0
| | | | | | | | Since there's no longer any external user of ip_fragment() we can make it static. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETFILTER]: Redo policy lookups after NAT when neccessaryPatrick McHardy2006-01-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | When NAT changes the key used for the xfrm lookup it needs to be done again. If a new policy is returned in POST_ROUTING the packet needs to be passed to xfrm4_output_one manually after all hooks were called because POST_ROUTING is called with fixed okfn (ip_finish_output). Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETFILTER]: Fix xfrm lookup in ip_route_me_harder/ip6_route_me_harderPatrick McHardy2006-01-072-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ip_route_me_harder doesn't use the port numbers of the xfrm lookup and uses ip_route_input for non-local addresses which doesn't do a xfrm lookup, ip6_route_me_harder doesn't do a xfrm lookup at all. Use xfrm_decode_session and do the lookup manually, make sure both only do the lookup if the packet hasn't been transformed already. Makeing sure the lookup only happens once needs a new field in the IP6CB, which exceeds the size of skb->cb. The size of skb->cb is increased to 48b. Apparently the IPv6 mobile extensions need some more room anyway. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV4]: reset IPCB flags when neccessaryPatrick McHardy2006-01-071-5/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | Reset IPSKB_XFRM_TUNNEL_SIZE flags in ipip and ip_gre hard_start_xmit function before the packet reenters IP. This is neccessary so the encapsulated packets are checked not to be oversized in xfrm4_output.c again. Reset all flags in sit when a packet changes its address family. Also remove some obsolete IPSKB flags. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV4/6]: Netfilter IPsec input hooksPatrick McHardy2006-01-071-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | When the innermost transform uses transport mode the decapsulated packet is not visible to netfilter. Pass the packet through the PRE_ROUTING and LOCAL_IN hooks again before handing it to upper layer protocols to make netfilter-visibility symetrical to the output path. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [IPV6]: Move nextheader offset to the IP6CBPatrick McHardy2006-01-072-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | Move nextheader offset to the IP6CB to make it possible to pass a packet to ip6_input_finish multiple times and have it skip already parsed headers. As a nice side effect this gets rid of the manual hopopts skipping in ip6_input_finish. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [XFRM]: Netfilter IPsec output hooksPatrick McHardy2006-01-071-10/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Call netfilter hooks before IPsec transforms. Packets visit the FORWARD/LOCAL_OUT and POST_ROUTING hook before the first encapsulation and the LOCAL_OUT and POST_ROUTING hook before each following tunnel mode transform. Patch from Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au>: Move the loop from dst_output into xfrm4_output/xfrm6_output since they're the only ones who need to it. xfrm{4,6}_output_one() processes the first SA all subsequent transport mode SAs and is called in a loop that calls the netfilter hooks between each two calls. In order to avoid the tail call issue, I've added the inline function nf_hook which is nf_hook_slow plus the empty list check. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NET]: Change sk_run_filter()'s return type in net/core/filter.cKris Katterjohn2006-01-061-2/+2

* [NETFILTER]: Call POST_ROUTING hook before fragmentationPatrick McHardy2006-01-051-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Call POST_ROUTING hook before fragmentation to get rid of the okfn use in ip_refrag and save the useless fragmentation/defragmentation step when NAT is used. The patch introduces one user-visible change, the POSTROUTING chain in the mangle table gets entire packets, not fragments, which should simplify use of the MARK and CLASSIFY targets for queueing as a nice side-effect. * [AF_UNIX]: Convert to use a spinlock instead of rwlockBenjamin LaHaise2006-01-031-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | From: Benjamin LaHaise <bcrl@kvack.org> In af_unix, a rwlock is used to protect internal state. At least on my P4 with HT it is faster to use a spinlock due to the simpler memory barrier used to unlock. This patch raises bw_unix to ~690K/s. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [INET_SOCK]: Move struct inet_sock & helper functions to net/inet_sock.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-0319-48/+257
| | | | | | | | | | | To help in reducing the number of include dependencies, several files were touched as they were getting needed headers indirectly for stuff they use. Thanks also to Alan Menegotto for pointing out that net/dccp/proto.c had linux/dccp.h include twice. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@mandriva.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * [NET]: move struct proto_ops to constEric Dumazet2006-01-033-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I noticed that some of 'struct proto_ops' used in the kernel may share a cache line used by locks or other heavily modified data. (default linker alignement is 32 bytes, and L1_CACHE_LINE is 64 or 128 at least) This patch makes sure a 'struct proto_ops' can be declared as const, so that all cpus can share all parts of it without false sharing. This is not mandatory : a driver can still use a read/write structure if it needs to (and eventually a __read_mostly) I made a global stubstitute to change all existing occurences to make them const. This should reduce the possibility of false sharing on SMP, and speedup some socket system calls. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <dada1@cosmosbay.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * [IP_SOCKGLUE]: Remove most of the tcp specific callsArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-032-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | As DCCP needs to be called in the same spots. Now we have a member in inet_sock (is_icsk), set at sock creation time from struct inet_protosw->flags (if INET_PROTOSW_ICSK is set, like for TCP and DCCP) to see if a struct sock instance is a inet_connection_sock for places like the ones in ip_sockglue.c (v4 and v6) where we previously were looking if sk_type was SOCK_STREAM, that is insufficient because we now use the same code for DCCP, that has sk_type SOCK_DCCP. * [IPV6]: Introduce inet6_timewait_sockArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-032-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Out of tcp6_timewait_sock, that now is just an aggregation of inet_timewait_sock and inet6_timewait_sock, using tw_ipv6_offset in struct inet_timewait_sock, that is common to the IPv6 transport protocols that use timewait sockets, like DCCP and TCP. tw_ipv6_offset plays the struct inet_sock pinfo6 role, i.e. for the generic code to find the IPv6 area in a timewait sock. | | | | | | | | | | | It also looks like there were 2 places where the test on sk_err was missing from the event wait logic (in sk_stream_wait_connect and sk_stream_wait_memory), while the rest of the sock_error() users look to be doing the right thing. * [IPV4]: Safer reassemblyHerbert Xu2006-01-032-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Another spin of Herbert Xu's "safer ip reassembly" patch for 2.6.16. (The original patch is here: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-netdev&m=112281936522415&w=2 and my only contribution is to have tested it.) * [LSM-IPSec]: Security association restriction.Trent Jaeger2006-01-032-5/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch series implements per packet access control via the extension of the Linux Security Modules (LSM) interface by hooks in the XFRM and pfkey subsystems that leverage IPSec security associations to label packets. Extensions to the SELinux LSM are included that leverage the patch for this purpose. This patch implements the changes necessary to the XFRM subsystem, pfkey interface, ipv4/ipv6, and xfrm_user interface to restrict a socket to use only authorized security associations (or no security association) to send/receive network packets. Patch purpose: The patch is designed to enable access control per packets based on the strongly authenticated IPSec security association. Such access controls augment the existing ones based on network interface and IP address. The former are very coarse-grained, and the latter can be spoofed. By using IPSec, the system can control access to remote hosts based on cryptographic keys generated using the IPSec mechanism. This enables access control on a per-machine basis or per-application if the remote machine is running the same mechanism and trusted to enforce the access control policy. Patch design approach: The overall approach is that policy (xfrm_policy) entries set by user-level programs (e.g., setkey for ipsec-tools) are extended with a security context that is used at policy selection time in the XFRM subsystem to restrict the sockets that can send/receive packets via security associations (xfrm_states) that are built from those policies. A presentation available at www.selinux-symposium.org/2005/presentations/session2/2-3-jaeger.pdf from the SELinux symposium describes the overall approach. Patch implementation details: On output, the policy retrieved (via xfrm_policy_lookup or xfrm_sk_policy_lookup) must be authorized for the security context of the socket and the same security context is required for resultant security association (retrieved or negotiated via racoon in ipsec-tools). This is enforced in xfrm_state_find. On input, the policy retrieved must also be authorized for the socket (at __xfrm_policy_check), and the security context of the policy must also match the security association being used. The patch has virtually no impact on packets that do not use IPSec. The existing Netfilter (outgoing) and LSM rcv_skb hooks are used as before. Also, if IPSec is used without security contexts, the impact is minimal. The LSM must allow such policies to be selected for the combination of socket and remote machine, but subsequent IPSec processing proceeds as in the original case. Testing: The pfkey interface is tested using the ipsec-tools. ipsec-tools have been modified (a separate ipsec-tools patch is available for version 0.5) that supports assignment of xfrm_policy entries and security associations with security contexts via setkey and the negotiation using the security contexts via racoon. The xfrm_user interface is tested via ad hoc programs that set security contexts. These programs are also available from me, and contain programs for setting, getting, and deleting policy for testing this interface. Testing of sa functions was done by tracing kernel behavior. * [IPV6] mcast: Fix multiple issues in MLDv2 reports.David L Stevens2005-12-271-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The below "jumbo" patch fixes the following problems in MLDv2. 1) Add necessary "ntohs" to recent "pskb_may_pull" check [breaks all nonzero source queries on little-endian (!)] 2) Add locking to source filter list [resend of prior patch] 3) fix "mld_marksources()" to a) send nothing when all queried sources are excluded b) send full exclude report when source queried sources are not excluded c) don't schedule a timer when there's nothing to report NOTE: RFC 3810 specifies the source list should be saved and each source reported individually as an IS_IN. This is an obvious DOS path, requiring the host to store and then multicast as many sources as are queried (e.g., millions...). This alternative sends a full, relevant report that's limited to number of sources present on the machine. 4) fix "add_grec()" to send empty-source records when it should The original check doesn't account for a non-empty source list with all sources inactive; the new code keeps that short-circuit case, and also generates the group header with an empty list if needed. 5) fix mca_crcount decrement to be after add_grec(), which needs its original value These issues (other than item #1 ;-) ) were all found by Yan Zheng, much thanks! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On ia64, it is possible to get NaT Consumption Fault and a kernel panic when initializing sctp sideeffect commands arguments. The union sctp_arg_t contains different sized elements and when loading a smaller sized element (32 or 16 bits), it is possible for a speculative load to fail and result in a NaT bit set which causes a kernel crash.
