* [ARM] 4524/1: S3C: Move register out of include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410Ben Dooks2007-07-226-447/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move register and other definitions out of the include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410 into the the arch directories of include/asm-arm/plat-s3c24xx and include/asm-arm/plat-s3c. This move is in preperation of the merging of s3c2400 and s3c6400. The following git mv commands are needed before this patch can be applied: git mv include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410/regs-ac97.h include/asm-arm/plat-s3c/regs-ac97.h git mv include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410/regs-adc.h include/asm-arm/plat-s3c/regs-adc.h git mv include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410/regs-iis.h include/asm-arm/plat-s3c24xx/regs-iis.h git mv include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410/regs-spi.h include/asm-arm/plat-s3c24xx/regs-spi.h git mv include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410/regs-udc.h include/asm-arm/plat-s3c24xx/regs-udc.h git mv include/asm-arm/arch-s3c2410/udc.h include/asm-arm/plat-s3c24xx/udc.h Signed-off-by: Ben Dooks <ben-linux@fluff.org> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

* [PATCH] gpio_direction_output() needs an initial valueDavid Brownell2007-03-161-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It's been pointed out that output GPIOs should have an initial value, to avoid signal glitching ... among other things, it can be some time before a driver is ready. This patch corrects that oversight, fixing - documentation - platforms supporting the GPIO interface - users of that call (just one for now, others are pending) There's only one user of this call for now since most platforms are still using non-generic GPIO setup code, which in most cases already couples the initial value with its "set output mode" request. Note that most platforms are clear about the hardware letting the output value be set before the pin direction is changed, but the s3c241x docs are vague on that topic ... so those chips might not avoid the glitches. | |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | get_irqnr_preamble allows machines to take some action before entering the get_irqnr_and_base loop. On iop we enable cp6 access. arch_ret_to_user is added to the userspace return path to allow individual architectures to take actions, like disabling coprocessor access, before the final return to userspace. Per Nicolas Pitre's note, there is no need to cp_wait on the return to user as the latency to return is sufficient. * [ARM] 4073/1: Prevent s3c24xx drivers from including asm/arch/hardware.h and ↵Arnaud Patard2006-12-304-2/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | asm/arch/irqs.h As reminded in http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/12/23/26, one should use asm/hardware.h and asm/irq.h but absent-minded devs like me tends to use asm/arch/hardware.h and/or asm/arch/irqs.h. This patch aims at preventing such things. In order to make it work, I had to modify asm-arm/irq.h too so that it can be included from assembly files. Also, as a side effect, I had to modify some headers who were using the asm/arch/hardware.h or asm/arch/irqs.h.
