* fs: deduplicate noop_backing_dev_infoChristoph Hellwig2015-01-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | hugetlbfs, kernfs and dlmfs can simply use noop_backing_dev_info instead of creating a local duplicate. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Reviewed-by: Jan Kara <jack@suse.cz> Acked-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@fb.com>
* kernfs: introduce kernfs_pin_sb()Li Zefan2014-06-301-0/+30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | kernfs_pin_sb() tries to get a refcnt of the superblock. This will be used by cgroupfs. v2: - make kernfs_pin_sb() return the superblock. - drop kernfs_drop_sb(). tj: Updated the comment a bit. * kernfs: move the last knowledge of sysfs out from kernfsJianyu Zhan2014-05-271-5/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | There is still one residue of sysfs remaining: the sb_magic SYSFS_MAGIC. However this should be kernfs user specific, so this patch moves it out. Kerrnfs user should specify their magic number while mouting. * kernfs: implement kernfs_root->supers listTejun Heo2014-04-251-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, there's no way to find out which super_blocks are associated with a given kernfs_root. Let's implement it - the planned inotify extension to kernfs_notify() needs it. Make kernfs_super_info point back to the super_block and chain it at kernfs_root->supers. | * sysfs: fix namespace refcnt leakLi Zefan2014-02-251-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As mount() and kill_sb() is not a one-to-one match, we shoudn't get ns refcnt unconditionally in sysfs_mount(), and instead we should get the refcnt only when kernfs_mount() allocated a new superblock. v2: - Changed the name of the new argument, suggested by Tejun. - Made the argument optional, suggested by Tejun. v3: - Make the new argument as second-to-last arg, suggested by Tejun. * | kernfs: fix kernfs_node_from_dentry()Li Zefan2014-02-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently kernfs_node_from_dentry() returns NULL for root dentry, because root_dentry->d_op == NULL. Due to this bug cgroupstats_build() returns -EINVAL for root cgroup. # mount -t cgroup -o cpuacct /cgroup # Documentation/accounting/getdelays -C /cgroup fatal reply error, errno -22 With this fix: # Documentation/accounting/getdelays -C /cgroup sleeping 305, blocked 0, running 1, stopped 0, uninterruptible 1 Signed-off-by: Li Zefan <lizefan@huawei.com> Acked-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | kernfs has just been separated out from sysfs and we're already in full conflict mode. Nothing can make the situation any worse. Let's take the chance to name things properly. This patch performs the following renames. * s/sysfs_*()/kernfs_*()/ in all internal functions * s/sysfs/kernfs/ in internal strings, comments and whatever is remaining * Uniformly rename various vfs operations so that they're consistently named and distinguishable. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | kernfs has just been separated out from sysfs and we're already in full conflict mode. Nothing can make the situation any worse. Let's take the chance to name things properly. This patch performs the following renames. * s/sysfs_elem_dir/kernfs_elem_dir/ * s/sysfs_elem_symlink/kernfs_elem_symlink/ * s/sysfs_elem_attr/kernfs_elem_file/ * s/sysfs_dirent/kernfs_node/ * s/sd/kn/ in kernfs proper * s/parent_sd/parent/ * s/target_sd/target/ * s/dir_sd/parent/ * s/to_sysfs_dirent()/rb_to_kn()/ * misc renames of local vars when they conflict with the above Because md, mic and gpio dig into sysfs details, this patch ends up modifying them. All are sysfs_dirent renames and trivial. While we can avoid these by introducing a dummy wrapping struct sysfs_dirent around kernfs_node, given the limited usage outside kernfs and sysfs proper, I don't think such workaround is called for. This patch is strictly rename only and doesn't introduce any functional difference. - mic / gpio renames were missing. Spotted by kbuild test robot. * sysfs, kernfs: move mount core code to fs/kernfs/mount.cTejun Heo2013-11-291-0/+156
| | | | | | | | | | | Move core mount code to fs/kernfs/mount.c. The respective declarations in fs/sysfs/sysfs.h are moved to fs/kernfs/kernfs-internal.h. This is pure relocation. Signed-off-by: Tejun Heo <tj@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
* sysfs, kernfs: add skeletons for kernfsTejun Heo2013-11-271-0/+9
Core sysfs implementation will be separated into kernfs so that it can be used by other non-kobject users. This patch creates fs/kernfs/ directory and makes boilerplate changes. kernfs interface will be directly based on sysfs_dirent and its forward declaration is moved to include/linux/kernfs.h which is included from include/linux/sysfs.h. sysfs core implementation will be gradually separated out and moved to kernfs. This patch doesn't introduce any functional changes. v2: mount.c added.
