| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The problem boiled down to a race between the gdlm_init_threads() function initializing thread1 and its setting of blist = 1. Essentially, "if (current == ls->thread1)" was checked by the thread before the thread creator set ls->thread1. Since thread1 is the only thread who is allowed to work on the blocking queue, and since neither thread thought it was thread1, no one was working on the queue. So everything just sat. This patch reuses the ls->async_lock spin_lock to fix the race, and it fixes the problem. I've done more than 2000 iterations of the loop that was recreating the failure and it seems to work. We don't need to add any extra fields to the structure to do this, so we save 32 bytes (on x86_64) per structure. Also incore.h has been updated to remove forward structure declarations which are not required. The gfs2_quota_lvb structure has now had endianess annotations added to it. Also quota.c has been updated so that we now store the lvb data locally in endian independant format to avoid needing a structure in host endianess too. As a result the endianess conversions are done as required at various points and thus the conversion routines in lvb.[ch] are no longer required. I've moved the one remaining constant in lvb.h thats used into lm.h and removed the unused lvb.[ch]. I have not changed the HIF_ constants. That is left to a later patch which I hope will unify the gh_flags and gh_iflags fields of the struct gfs2_holder.
