* video: udlfb: Return an error code only as a constant in ↵Markus Elfring2018-03-281-7/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | dlfb_realloc_framebuffer() * Return an error code without storing it in an intermediate variable. * Delete the label "error" and local variable "retval" which became unnecessary with this refactoring. * video: udlfb: Use already defined BPP constantLadislav Michl2018-03-121-4/+3
| | | | | | | | Replace const variable with already defined constant. Signed-off-by: Ladislav Michl <ladis@linux-mips.org> Cc: Bernie Thompson <bernie@plugable.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <b.zolnierkie@samsung.com>
* video: udlfb: Fix unaligned accessLadislav Michl2018-03-121-11/+12
| | | | | | | | | | Driver generates lots of alignment trap exceptions on ARM. Fix that by replacing typecasting of odd addresses with byte shifting and remove uneccessary typecasting. * video: udlfb: Switch from the pr_*() to the dev_*() logging functionsLadislav Michl2018-01-161-114/+117
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use dev_err() and dev_info() instead of pr_err() and pr_info(). USB device is used as argument to dev_*() functions for probe and urb manipulation, FB device for framebuffer related info. Also noisy device probe output was partly removed as idVendor, idProduct, name and serial are already printed by usb core, and partly turned into debug output. * video: udlfb: Constify read only dataLadislav Michl2018-01-161-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Both dlfb_fix and fb_device_attrs are never written to, so it is safe to make them const. Signed-off-by: Ladislav Michl <ladis@linux-mips.org> Cc: Bernie Thompson <bernie@plugable.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <b.zolnierkie@samsung.com>
* video: udlfb: Do not name private data 'dev'Ladislav Michl2018-01-151-207/+207
| | | | | | | | | | Variable 'dev' is usually used for 'struct device'. Therefore rename driver private data to dlfb to avoid confusion once driver will be using dev_*() logging functions. * video: udlfb: Remove noisy warningsLadislav Michl2018-01-151-20/+0
| | | | | | | | | These warnings comes from times of driver development and do not carry any usefull debugging information. Signed-off-by: Ladislav Michl <ladis@linux-mips.org> Cc: Bernie Thompson <bernie@plugable.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <b.zolnierkie@samsung.com>
* video: udlfb: Remove redundant gdev variableLadislav Michl2018-01-151-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | gdev is not really needed as the same content can be read from udev->dev. Signed-off-by: Ladislav Michl <ladis@linux-mips.org> Cc: Bernie Thompson <bernie@plugable.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <b.zolnierkie@samsung.com>

| | | | | | | | 'urb' is not needed and can be removed. Signed-off-by: Ladislav Michl <ladis@linux-mips.org> Cc: Bernie Thompson <bernie@plugable.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <b.zolnierkie@samsung.com>
* video: udlfb: Delete an unnecessary return statement in two functionsMarkus Elfring2017-12-291-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | The script "checkpatch.pl" pointed information out like the following. WARNING: void function return statements are not generally useful Thus remove such a statement in the affected functions. * video: udlfb: Improve a size determination in dlfb_alloc_urb_list()Markus Elfring2017-12-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Replace the specification of a data structure by a pointer dereference as the parameter for the operator "sizeof" to make the corresponding size determination a bit safer according to the Linux coding style convention. This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software. * video: udlfb: Fix read EDID timeoutLadislav Michl2017-11-091-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While usb_control_msg function expects timeout in miliseconds, a value of HZ is used. Replace it with USB_CTRL_GET_TIMEOUT and also fix error message which looks like: udlfb: Read EDID byte 78 failed err ffffff92 as error is either negative errno or number of bytes transferred use %d format specifier. Returned EDID is in second byte, so return error when less than two bytes are received. Fixes: 18dffdf8913a ("staging: udlfb: enhance EDID and mode handling support") Signed-off-by: Ladislav Michl <ladis@linux-mips.org> Cc: Bernie Thompson <bernie@plugable.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <b.zolnierkie@samsung.com>
* video: fbdev: udlfb: Fix use after free on dlfb_usb_probe error pathAnton Vasilyev2017-08-211-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | If dlfb_usb_probe drops to error path then there is only one kref_init() call and no kref_get(), so second kref_put() leads to use after free. The patch removes superfluous kref_put on dlfb_usb_probe error path. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). * video: fbdev: udlfb: constify usb_device_id.Arvind Yadav2017-08-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | usb_device_id are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions working with usb_device_id provided by <linux/usb.h> work with const usb_device_id. So mark the non-const structs as const. * video: fbdev: add const to bin_attribute structuresBhumika Goyal2017-08-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add const to bin_attribute structures as they are only passed to the functions sysfs_{remove/create}_bin_file or device_{remove/create}_bin_file. The corresponding arguments are of type const, so declare the structures to be const. * video: fbdev: udlfb: drop log level for blankingMike Gerow2017-06-141-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Drop log level for blanking from info to debug. Xorg likes to habitually unblank when already unblanked and this can fill up logs over a long period of time. * fbdev: udlfb: remove unneeded initialization in few placesAlexey Klimov2015-08-201-6/+4

* video: udlfb: Deletion of unnecessary checks before the function call "vfree"Markus Elfring2014-12-041-6/+3

* video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen2014-04-171-0/+1985
The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch.
