* usb: phy: remove CONFIG_USB_OTG_UTILSFelipe Balbi2013-03-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | there are no more users of CONFIG_USB_OTG_UTILS left in tree, we can remove it just fine. * usb: phy: move all PHY drivers to drivers/usb/phy/Felipe Balbi2013-03-181-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | that's a much more reasonable location for those drivers. It helps us saving drivers/usb/otg/ for when we actually start adding generic OTG code. Also completely delete drivers/usb/otg/ as there's nothing left there. Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
* usb: Makefile: fix drivers/usb/phy/ Makefile entryFelipe Balbi2013-03-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | drivers/usb/phy/ should be compiled everytime we have CONFIG_USB_OTG_UTILS enabled. phy/ should've been part of the build process based on CONFIG_USB_OTG_UTILS, don't know where I had my head when I allowed CONFIG_USB_COMMON there. In fact commit c6156328dec52a55f90688cbfad21c83f8711d84 tried to fix a previous issue but it made things even worse. The real solution is to compile phy/ based on CONFIG_USB_OTG_UTILS which gets selected by all PHY drivers. I only triggered the error recently after accepting a patch which moved a bunch of code from otg/otg.c to phy/phy.c and running 100 randconfig cycles. * usb: move ci13xxx and related code to drivers/usb/chipideaAlexander Shishkin2012-05-111-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Since chipidea is a dual role controller, it makes sense to move it to its own directory, where we can also have host, otg and platform code related to this controller. It also makes sense to break out the driver into several compilation units like udc, host, debugging code, etc. Firstly, let's move the udc and platform code to drivers/usb/chipidea. * USB: Add driver for NXP ISP1301 USB transceiverRoland Stigge2012-05-011-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This new driver registers the NXP ISP1301 chip via the I2C subsystem. The chip is the USB transceiver shared by ohci-nxp, lpc32xx_udc (gadget) and isp1301_omap. ISP1301 is a very low-level driver that primarily separates out the I2C client registration of the ISP1301 chip (including instantiation via DT), used by other drivers, and declares the chip's registers. It's only a helper driver for some OHCI and USB device drivers. The driver can be considered as a register set extension of ohci-nxp, lpc32xx-udc and isp1301_omap, which in turn know best what to do with the low level functionality (individual ISP1301 registers and timing, see the different initialization strategies in those drivers). Those drivers previously internally duplicated ISP1301 register definitions which is solved by this new isp1301 driver. The ISP1301 registers exposed via isp1301.h can be accessed by other drivers using it with standard i2c_smbus_*() accesses. Following patches let the respective USB host and gadget drivers use this driver, instead of duplicating ISP1301 handling. * usb: Provide usb_speed_string() functionMichal Nazarewicz2011-09-181-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In a few places in the kernel, the code prints a human-readable USB device speed (eg. "high speed"). This involves a switch statement sometimes wrapped around in ({ ... }) block leading to code repetition. To mitigate this issue, this commit introduces usb_speed_string() function, which returns a human-readable name of provided speed. It also changes a few places switch was used to use this new function. This changes a bit the way the speed is printed in few instances at the same time standardising it. * usb: Introduce DesignWare USB3 DRD DriverFelipe Balbi2011-08-221-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The DesignWare USB3 is a highly configurable IP Core which can be instantiated as Dual-Role Device (DRD), Peripheral Only and Host Only (XHCI) configurations. Several other parameters can be configured like amount of FIFO space, amount of TX and RX endpoints, amount of Host Interrupters, etc. The current driver has been validated with a virtual model of version 1.73a of that core and with an FPGA burned with version 1.83a of the DRD core. We have support for PCIe bus, which is used on FPGA prototyping, and for the OMAP5, more adaptation (or glue) layers can be easily added and the driver is half prepared to handle any possible configuration the HW engineer has chosen considering we have the information on one of the GHWPARAMS registers to do runtime checking of certain features. More runtime checks can, and should, be added in order to make this driver even more flexible with regards to number of endpoints, FIFO sizes, transfer types, etc. While this supports only the device side, for now, we will add support for Host side (xHCI - see the updated series Sebastian has sent [1]) and OTG after we have it all stabilized. * USB: fix build of FSL MPH DR OF platform driverAnatolij Gustschin2011-05-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When only FSL USB gadget driver is selected in the kernel configuration the MPH DR OF driver for creation of FSL USB platform devices from device tree won't be built. As a result no USB platform devices for MPH DR USB controller will be created at run time and no probing will be done in the fsl_udc_core driver. * USB: Driver for Freescale QUICC Engine USB Host ControllerAnton Vorontsov2009-01-271-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds support for the FHCI USB controller, as found in the Freescale MPC836x and MPC832x processors. It can support Full or Low speed modes. Quite a lot the hardware is doing by itself (SOF generation, CRC generation and checking), though scheduling and retransmission is on software's shoulders. This controller does not integrate the root hub, so this driver also fakes one-port hub. External hub is required to support more than one device. * USB: r8a66597-hcd: host controller driver for R8A66597Yoshihiro Shimoda2007-07-121-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I would like to submit Renesas R8A66597 USB HCD driver. R8A66597 is Renesas USB 2.0 host and peripheral combined controller device originally designed for embedded products. As a limitation of this device, it does not support externel hub more than 2 tier, and cannot communicate with a USB device more than 10. Then this device is not compatible with EHCI and/or OHCI, I wrote driver support patch based on sl811 code. This driver has the following unique specifications: - Implement transfer timeout to share one pipe with plural endpoint. - Detach detection of a USB device connected to externel hub. The driver has been tested external hub, usb-hdd, usb-cdrom, usb-speaker, mice, keyboard, and usbtest driver. * Move USB network drivers to drivers/net/usb.Jeff Garzik2007-05-091-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | It is preferable to group drivers by usage (net, scsi, ATA, ...) than by bus. When reviewing drivers, the [PCI|USB|PCMCIA|...] maintainer is probably less qualified on networking issues than a networking maintainer. Also, from a practical standpoint, chips often appear on multiple buses, which is why we do not put drivers into drivers/pci/net. * USB: u132-hcd: host controller driver for ELAN U132 adapterTony Olech2006-09-271-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This "u132-hcd" module is one half of the "driver" for ELAN's U132 which is a USB to CardBus OHCI controller adapter. This module needs the "ftdi-elan" module in order to communicate to CardBus OHCI controller inserted into the U132 adapter. When the "ftdi-elan" module detects a supported CardBus OHCI controller in the U132 adapter it loads this "u132-hcd" module. Upon a successful device probe() the single workqueue is started up which does all the processing of commands from the USB core that implement the host controller. The workqueue maintains the urb queues and issues commands via the functions exported by the "ftdi-elan" module. Each such command will result in a callback. Note that the "ftdi-elan" module is a USB client driver. Note that this "u132-hcd" module is a (cut-down OHCI) host controller. Thus we have a topology with the parent of a host controller being a USB client! This really stresses the USB subsystem semaphore/mutex handling in the module removal. * USB: ftdi-elan: client driver for ELAN Uxxx adaptersTony Olech2006-09-271-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This "ftdi-elan" module is one half of the "driver" for ELAN's Uxxx series adapters which are USB to PCMCIA CardBus adapters. Currently only the U132 adapter is available and it's module is called "u132-hcd". When the USB hot plug subsystem detects a Uxxx series adapter it should load this module. Upon a successful device probe() the jtag device file interface is created and the status workqueue started up. The jtag device file interface exists for the purpose of updating the firmware in the Uxxx series adapter, but as yet it had never been used. The status workqueue initializes the Uxxx and then sits there polling the Uxxx until a supported PCMCIA CardBus device is detected it will start the command and respond workqueues and then load the module that handles the device. This will initially be only the u132-hcd module. The status workqueue then just polls the Uxxx looking for card ejects. The command and respond workqueues implement a command sequencer for communicating with the firmware on the other side of the FTDI chip in the Uxxx. This "ftdi-elan" module exports some functions to interface with the sequencer. Note that this module is a USB client driver. Note that the "u132-hcd" module is a (cut-down OHCI) host controller. Thus we have a topology with the parent of a host controller being a USB client! This really stresses the USB subsystem semaphore/mutex handling in the module removal. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | tiny things This is a new driver for the Cypress CY7C63xxx mirco controller series. It currently supports the pre-programmed CYC63001A-PC by AK Modul-Bus GmbH. It's based on a kernel 2.4 driver (cyport) by Marcus Maul which I ported to kernel 2.6 using sysfs. I intend to support more controllers of this family (and more features) as soon as I get hold of the required IDs etc. Please see the source code's header for more information. * V4L/DVB (3599a): Move drivers/usb/media to drivers/media/videoMauro Carvalho Chehab2006-03-251-14/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Because of historic reasons, there are two separate directories with V4L stuff. Most drivers are located at driver/media/video. However, some code for USB Webcams were inserted under drivers/usb/media. This makes difficult for module authors to know were things should be. Also, makes Kconfig menu confusing for normal users. This patch moves all V4L content under drivers/usb/media to drivers/media/video, and fixes Kconfig/Makefile entries. * [PATCH] USB: add support for OCHI on AT91rm9200Andrew Victor2006-03-201-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds support for OHCI on AT91rm9200 based boards. Possibly of interest here is the way this uses <linux/clk.h> to gate clocks on/off during system pm state transitions. That's typical for non-PCI systems. Some can go further; Mini-A host side connectors enable ID-pin sensing.
