* scsi: Update 3ware driver email addressesadam radford2016-12-141-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This change updates the 3ware drivers (3w-xxxx, 3w-9xxx, 3w-sas) email addresses from linuxraid@lsi.com to aradford@gmail.com, since the old email address doesn't exist. This patch was updated to remove www.lsi.com text. [mkp: applied by hand] Signed-off-by: Adam Radford <aradford@gmail.com> Acked-by: Sumit Saxena <sumit.saxena@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: Martin K. * 3w-xxxx: fix command completion raceChristoph Hellwig2015-04-271-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | The 3w-xxxx driver needs to tear down the dma mappings before returning the command to the midlayer, as there is no guarantee the sglist and count are valid after that point. Also remove the dma mapping helpers which have another inherent race due to the request_id index. * 3w-xxxx: fix mis-aligned struct accessesArnd Bergmann2014-07-251-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Building an allmodconfig ARM kernel, I get multiple such warnings because of a spinlock contained in packed structure in the 3w-xxxx driver: ../drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.c: In function 'tw_chrdev_ioctl': ../drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.c:1001:68: warning: mis-aligned access used for structure member [-fstrict-volatile-bitfields] timeout = wait_event_timeout(tw_dev->ioctl_wqueue, tw_dev->chrdev_request_id == TW_IOCTL_CHRDEV_FREE, timeout); ^ ../drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.c:1001:68: note: when a volatile object spans multiple type-sized locations, the compiler must choose between using a single mis-aligned access to preserve the volatility, or using multiple aligned accesses to avoid runtime faults; this code may fail at runtime if the hardware does not allow this access The same bug apparently was present in 3w-sas and 3w-9xxx, but has been fixed in the past. This patch uses the same fix by moving the pragma in front of the TW_Device_Extension definition, so it only covers hardware structures. * [SCSI] 3w-xxxx, 3w-9xxx: force 60 second timeoutadam radford2010-04-111-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | This small patch forces 60 second timeouts for the older 3w-xxxx & 3w-9xxx drivers for systems that don't contain the udev rule for setting scsi timeouts to 60 seconds. Signed-off-by: Adam Radford <aradford@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: James Bottomley <James.Bottomley@suse.de>

* [PATCH] changing CONFIG_LOCALVERSION rebuilds too much, for no good reasonOlaf Hering2005-11-091-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes almost all inclusions of linux/version.h. The 3 #defines are unused in most of the touched files. A few drivers use the simple KERNEL_VERSION(a,b,c) macro, which is unfortunatly in linux/version.h. There are also lots of #ifdef for long obsolete kernels, this was not touched. In a few places, the linux/version.h include was move to where the LINUX_VERSION_CODE was used. quilt vi `find * -type f -name "*.[ch]"|xargs grep -El '(UTS_RELEASE|LINUX_VERSION_CODE|KERNEL_VERSION|linux/version.h)'|grep -Ev '(/(boot|coda|drm)/|~$)'` search pattern: /UTS_RELEASE\|LINUX_VERSION_CODE\|KERNEL_VERSION\|linux\/\(utsname\|version\).h Signed-off-by: Olaf Hering <olh@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
