* s390/dasd: Change unsigned long long to unsigned longJan Höppner2017-08-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Unsigned long long and unsigned long were different in size for 31-bit. For 64-bit the size for both datatypes is 8 Bytes and since the support for 31-bit is long gone we can clean up a little and change everything to unsigned long. Change get_phys_clock() along the way to accept unsigned long as well so that the DASD code can be consistent. * Replace <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> globallyLinus Torvalds2016-12-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This was entirely automated, using the script by Al: PATT='^[[:blank:]]*#[[:blank:]]*include[[:blank:]]*<asm/uaccess.h>' sed -i -e "s!$PATT!#include <linux/uaccess.h>!" \ $(git grep -l "$PATT"|grep -v ^include/linux/uaccess.h) to do the replacement at the end of the merge window. * s390/dasd: extend dasd path handlingStefan Haberland2016-12-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Store flags and path_data per channel path. Implement get/set functions for various path masks. The patch does not add functional changes. * s390/dasd: add missing \n to end of dev_err messagesColin Ian King2016-09-281-2/+2
| | | | | | | Trival fix, dev_err messages are missing a \n, so add it. Signed-off-by: Colin Ian King <colin.king@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
* s390/dasd: fix statistics for recovered requestsStefan Weinhuber2013-08-281-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | When a recovery cqr is cleaned up, copy the start time, stop time, and start device to the original cqr. These times are needed later when the original request is finalized and counted in the DASD statistics. * s390/dasd: Reduce amount of messages for specific errorsHannes Reinecke2013-07-011-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | Whenever a request has been aborted internally by the driver there is no sense data to be had. * s390/comments: unify copyright messages and remove file namesHeiko Carstens2012-07-201-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the file name from the comment at top of many files. In most cases the file name was wrong anyway, so it's rather pointless. Also unify the IBM copyright statement. We did have a lot of sightly different statements and wanted to change them one after another whenever a file gets touched. However that never happened. Instead people start to take the old/"wrong" statements to use as a template for new files. So unify all of them in one go. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>
* [S390] dasd: do path verification for paths added at runtimeStefan Weinhuber2011-01-051-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | When a new path is added at runtime, the CIO layer will call the drivers path_event callback. The DASD device driver uses this callback to trigger a path verification for the new path. The driver will use only those paths for I/O, which have been successfully verified. * [S390] dasd: fix message namingStefan Haberland2009-09-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | This patch fixes message naming so that generic dasd messages do not contain the device discipline. * [S390] dasd: add hyper PAV support to DASD device driver, part 1Stefan Weinhuber2008-01-261-13/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Parallel access volumes (PAV) is a storage server feature, that allows to start multiple channel programs on the same DASD in parallel. It defines alias devices which can be used as alternative paths to the same disk. With the old base PAV support we only needed rudimentary functionality in the DASD device driver. As the mapping between base and alias devices was static, we just had to export an identifier (uid) and could leave the combining of devices to external layers like a device mapper multipath. Now hyper PAV removes the requirement to dedicate alias devices to specific base devices. Instead each alias devices can be combined with multiple base device on a per request basis. This requires full support by the DASD device driver as now each channel program itself has to identify the target base device. The changes to the dasd device driver and the ECKD discipline are: - Separate subchannel device representation (dasd_device) from block device representation (dasd_block). Only base devices are block devices. - Gather information about base and alias devices and possible combinations. - For each request decide which dasd_device should be used (base or alias) and build specific channel program. - Support summary unit checks, which allow the storage server to upgrade / downgrade between base and hyper PAV at runtime (support is mandatory). Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
