* drivers/rtc/rtc-vt8500.c: fix handling of data passed in struct rtc_timeTony Prisk2013-01-041-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | tm_mon is 0..11, whereas vt8500 expects 1..12 for the month field, causing invalid date errors for January, and causing the day field to roll over incorrectly. The century flag is only handled in vt8500_rtc_read_time, but not set in vt8500_rtc_set_time. This patch corrects the behaviour of the century flag. * drivers/rtc/rtc-vt8500.c: correct handling of CR_24H bitfieldTony Prisk2013-01-041-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Control register bitfield for 12H/24H mode is handled incorrectly. Setting CR_24H actually enables 12H mode. This patch renames the define and changes the initialization code to correctly set 24H mode. * Drivers: rtc: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman2013-01-0370-214/+209
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. * revert "rtc: recycle id when unloading a rtc driver"Andrew Morton2012-12-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Revert commit 2830a6d20139df2198d63235df7957712adb28e5. We already perform the ida_simple_remove() in rtc_device_release(), which is an appropriate place. Commit 2830a6d20 ("rtc: recycle id when unloading a rtc driver") caused the kernel to emit ida_remove called for id=0 which is not allocated. warnings when rtc_device_release() tries to release an alread-released ID. Let's restore things to their previous state and then work out why Vincent's kernel wasn't calling rtc_device_release() - presumably a bug in a specific sub-driver. * drivers/rtc/rtc-tps65910.c: enable RTC power domain on initializationKim, Milo2012-12-171-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Enabling RTC HW block depends on the default value of TPS65910 register. In some mode, RTC block is disabled by default.(eg. AM3517 Craneboard) In this case, RTC_PWDN(RTC power down) bit should be cleared to enable the RTC HW block. This patch also works in case that RTC block is active by default, because there is no side effect even if the bit is updated again. Tested on AM3517 Craneboard. * rtc: rtc-spear: Provide flag for no support of UIE modeDeepak Sikri2012-12-171-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The applications can set the RTC hardware to trigger interrupts in one of three modes: * AIE: Alarm interrupt * UIE: Update interrupt (ie: once per second) * PIE: Periodic interrupt (sub-second irqs) The above defined 3 modes are to be supported in the RTC HW in form of interrupts. The SPEAr RTC hardware does not support the later two modes. There have been refinements in the RTC core in mainline related to use of timer queue infrastructure to manage events in RTC. Please refer the below mentioned patch for details: * RTC: Rework RTC code to use timerqueue for events * SHA ID: 6610e0893b8bc6f59b14fed7f089c5997f035f88 There have been provisions added to support hardware that do not have support the UIE mode. Please refer the following patch. * rtc: Provide flag for rtc devices that don't support UIE * SHA ID: 4a649903f91232d02284d53724b0a45728111767 The patch makes use of the provision defined in the above patch to update the hardware status of UIE mode. * rtc: omap: add runtime pm supportVaibhav Hiremath2012-12-171-0/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | OMAP1 RTC driver is used in multiple devices like, OMAPL138 and AM33XX. Driver currently doesn't handle any clocks, which may be right for OMAP1 architecture but in case of AM33XX, the clock/module needs to be enabled in order to access the registers. So convert this driver to runtime pm, which internally handles rest. * rtc: omap: kicker mechanism supportAfzal Mohammed2012-12-171-3/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | OMAP RTC IP can have kicker feature. This prevents spurious writes to register. To write to registers kicker lock has to be released. Procedure to do it as follows, 1. write to kick0 register, 0x83e70b13 2. write to kick1 register, 0x95a4f1e0 Writing value other than 0x83e70b13 to kick0 enables write locking, more details about kicker mechanism can be found in section 20.3.3.5.3 of AM335X TRM @www.ti.com/am335x Here id table information is added and is used to distinguish those that require kicker handling and the ones that doesn't need it. There are more features in the newer IP's compared to legacy ones other than kicker, which driver currently doesn't handle, supporting additional features would be easier with the addition of id table. Older IP (of OMAP1) doesn't have revision register as per TRM, so revision register can't be relied always to find features, hence id table is being used. While at it, replace __raw_writeb/__raw_readb with writeb/readb; this driver is used on ARMv7 (AM335X SoC) Signed-off-by: Afzal Mohammed <afzal@ti.com> Acked-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com> Cc: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Cc: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com> Cc: Kevin Hilman <khilman@ti.com> Cc: Russell King <linux@arm.linux.org.uk> Cc: Alessandro Zummo <a.zummo@towertech.it> Cc: Daniel Mack <zonque@gmail.com> Cc: Vaibhav Hiremath <hvaibhav@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

* rtc: kconfig: fix RTC_INTF defaults connected to RTC_CLASSKevin Hilman2012-10-111-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 6b8029fab641 ("rtc: kconfig: remove unnecessary dependencies") removed various 'depends on RTC_CLASS' dependencies but also removed a few 'default RTC_CLASS' statements, which actually changed default behavior. This resulted in the various RTC interfaces (sysfs, proc, dev) all being disabled by default, even when RTC_CLASS is enabled: # CONFIG_RTC_INTF_SYSFS is not set # CONFIG_RTC_INTF_PROC is not set # CONFIG_RTC_INTF_DEV is not set which is different from previous behavior (all of these where enabled.) To fix, add back the 'default RTC_CLASS' statments to each of the RTC_INTF_* options. I noticed this because some RTC tests started failing on my TI OMAP platforms because /dev/rtc0 was not present anymore, even though the driver was present and RTC_CLASS was enabled. But since those functions were not touched, building this driver triggers these GCC warnings: drivers/rtc/rtc-m41t80.c:216:12: warning: 'm41t80_rtc_alarm_irq_enable' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] drivers/rtc/rtc-m41t80.c:238:12: warning: 'm41t80_rtc_set_alarm' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] drivers/rtc/rtc-m41t80.c:308:12: warning: 'm41t80_rtc_read_alarm' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] Remove these functions (and the commented out references to them) to silence these warnings.
