| | | | | | | | | | | | Now that a new mac80211-based driver for Realtek devices has been submitted, it is time to reorganize the directories. Rather than having directories rtlwifi and rtl818x be in drivers/net/wireless/, they will now be in drivers/net/wireless/realtek/. This change simplifies the directory structure, but does not result in any configuration changes that are visable to the user. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I remove duplicated routines which related rtl92cu_set_hw_reg(). 1. rtl92c_set_qos() and HW_VAR_AC_PARAM routine are similar code. so i replace code with rtlpriv->cfg->ops->set_hw_reg(). 2. rtl92c_set_mac_addr() and 'HW_VAR_ETHER_ADDR' case at rtl92cu_set_hw_reg() routine are similar code. so i removed rtl92c_set_mac_addr() function. also it was not used anywhere. 3. remove HW_VAR_ACM_CTRL routine in rtl92cu_set_hw_reg(). if rtl_usb->acm_method is not EACMWAY2_SW, HW_VAR_ACM_CTRL is called from HW_VAR_AC_PARAM. but it never called. because acm_method is always EACMWAY2_SW. so i remove acm_method check routine and HW_VAR_ACM_CTRL routine. both usb and pci interface is not used HW_VAR_ACM_CTRL. but i can't test pci interface module, so i didn't modify pci code. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | rtl92c_set_fw_rsvdpagepkt is used by rtl8192cu and its pci sibling rtl8192ce. rtl_cmd_send_packet crashes when called inside rtl8192cu because it works on memory allocated only by rtl8192ce. Fix the crash by calling a dummy function when used in rtl8192cu. Comparision with the realtek vendor driver makes me think, something is missing in the dummy function. Short test as WPA2 station show good results connected to an 802.11g basestation. Traffic stops after few MBytes as WPA2 station connected to an 802.11n basestation. Use the get_hw_reg abstraction layer (which reads rtlpci->receive_config for PCI devices and mac->rx_conf for USB). There is no functional change for cases where receive_config was accessed directly. For rtl8192ce, there is still no change because nothing modifies REG_RCR or receive_config. For rtl8192cu, it now also applies changes to rx_conf from configure_filter, but that can be considered a bug which is fixed later. The kernel bugzilla report is https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42632, which reports a udev timeout on boot. The first mail thread, which was on LKML (http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/ linux/kernel/1112.3/00965.html) was for a WARNING that occurs after a suspend/resume cycle for rtl8192cu. The scond mail thread (http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=132655490826766&w=2) concerned changes in udev that break drivers that delay while firmware is loaded on modprobe. This patch converts all rtlwifi-based drivers to use the asynchronous firmware loading mechanism. Drivers rtl8192ce, rtl8192cu and rtl8192de share a common callback routine.
