* mwifiex: download per country tx power table to firmwareBing Zhao2013-12-181-0/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | When driver gets regulatory domain change notifications or before associates to an AP with Country IE, the txpwrlimit table stored in device tree for that country is downloaded to firmware. The txpwrlimit downloading will happen only at the first time when the alpha2 country code is changed. World regulatory domain "00" notification doesn't trigger the downloading. This behavior is same as domain_info command. Signed-off-by: Bing Zhao <bzhao@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* mwifiex: send regulatory domain info to firmware only if alpha2 changedBing Zhao2013-12-181-6/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | On cfg80211 regulatory domain change, drivers gets alpha2 country code or "00" in driver's notification handler. In most cases, the pattern will be US, 00, US, 00, US, 00, US, ... There is no need to send domain info to firmware in case of "00" or with the same alpha2 country code. | * | mwifiex: fix potential mem leak in .del_virtual_intfAmitkumar Karwar2013-11-151-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1) Currently we freeing wdev for each interface in driver unload path. We may leak memory if user have already deleted an interface. mwifiex_add_virtual_intf() allocates wdev structure. So it should be freed in mwifiex_del_virtual_intf(). This will make sure that wdev will be freed when user deletes an interface and also in unload path. 2) "priv->netdev->ieee80211_ptr" should also be cleared in mwifiex_del_virtual_intf. | * | mwifiex: failure path handling in mwifiex_add_virtual_intf()Amitkumar Karwar2013-11-151-4/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1) If register_netdevice() is failed, we are freeing netdev pointer, but priv->netdev is not cleared. This gives kernel paging request error when driver is unloaded or interface is deleted. Fix the problem by clearing the pointer. 2) Fix memory leak issue by freeing 'wdev' in failure paths. Also, clear priv->wdev pointer. As mwifiex_add_virtual_intf() successfully handles the failure conditions, redundant code under err_add_intf label is removed in this patch. * mwifiex: add packet coalesce supportAmitkumar Karwar2013-08-091-0/+125
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Coalesce filters are configured in firmware based on settings received from cfg80211. Packet type which is required by firmware is determined based on provided patterns in a rule: Unicast: if pattern '01' with offset 0 is found Multicast: if pattern '33:33' or '01:00:5e' with offset 0 is found Broadcast: if pattern 'ff:ff:ff:ff' with offset 0 is found Some example coalesce configuration files: 1) Coalesce Rx data packets from 192.168.0.88 mac address of our device is 00:50:43:21:53:7A Source IP address offset comes out as 52 after following calculations: 32 bytes of HW 802.11 header + 8 bytes LLC + 12 bytes in IPV4 header till source IP address Destination mac is at offset 6 in HW header. delay=100 condition=1 patterns=01,6+00:50:43:22,10+53:7A,52+c0:a8:00:58 2) Coalesce all broadcast and multicast packets(Multiple packet types are not allowed in a single rule. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch fixes an issue wherein association would fail on P2P interfaces. This happened because we are checking priv->mode against NL80211_IFTYPE_STATION. While this check is correct for infrastructure stations, it would fail P2P clients for which mode is NL80211_IFTYPE_P2P_CLIENT. Better check would be bss_role which has only 2 values: STA/AP. * | mwifiex: add support to configure VHT for AP modeYogesh Ashok Powar2013-03-251-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently, default VHT configuration from the firmware is used for the VHT operations. Adding vhtcfg command to configure the firmware based on input received from cfg. Enable VHT for AP mode only when cfg80211_ap_settings has a VHT IE i.e., when ieee80211ac is set to 1 in the hostapd.conf. * | mwifiex: cleanup VHT capYogesh Ashok Powar2013-03-181-57/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Firmware returned VHT cap has the same format that cfg80211 expects. There is no need to parse the vht cap from the firmware and then set it to ieee80211_sta_vht_cap. Just copying is sufficient. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For STA mode, collect VHT realated IEs from the Beacons or Probe Responses and append similar VHT related IEs to association requests. For AP mode, get VHT related capability information and share it with cfg80211 at the time of wiphy register. This information is further used by cfg80211 and hostapd to start an AP with 802.11AC support. Currently only 8897 supports 802.11AC.
