* libertas: remove priv->ratebitmapHolger Schurig2009-12-222-4/+1
| | | | | | | Used to be a write-only-variable :-) Signed-off-by: Holger Schurig <holgerschurig@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
* libertas: remove priv->capabilityHolger Schurig2009-12-224-15/+3
| | | | | | | | | This variable was once set to WLAN_CAPABILITY_SHORT_PREAMBLE and there's no code that could change the variable to something else. Therefore it seems this is not necessary :-) Signed-off-by: Holger Schurig <holgerschurig@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>

* libertas: decouple mesh and rtapHolger Schurig2009-12-221-2/+17
| | | | | | | | While it's might be technically true that only MESH-enabled firmwares are also RTAP-enabled, I like to have this decoupled. Signed-off-by: Holger Schurig <holgerschurig@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>

* libertas: remove mesh_autostart_enabled and sync_channelHolger Schurig2009-12-223-29/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | mesh_autostart_enabled was nowhere set. Rumor is that this is used in the OLPC tree, but they never did submit their code upstream. After removing this code, it turned out that the sync_channel stuff is now also unused, so get rid of that as well. Signed-off-by: Holger Schurig <holgerschurig@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. * libertas: use priv->mesh_tlv instead of priv->mesh_fw_verHolger Schurig2009-12-224-28/+16
| | | | | | | | | | Both variables contained the same information (no mesh, old mesh, new mesh). So we can get rid of one variable. Also move the mesh-version test from cmd.c into mesh.c. | | * pcmcia: rework the irq_req_t typedefDominik Brodowski2009-11-281-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Most of the irq_req_t typedef'd struct can be re-worked quite easily: (1) IRQInfo2 was unused in any case, so drop it. (2) IRQInfo1 was used write-only, so drop it. (3) Instance (private data to be passed to the IRQ handler): Most PCMCIA drivers using pcmcia_request_irq() to actually register an IRQ handler set the "dev_id" to the same pointer as the "priv" pointer in struct pcmcia_device. Modify the two exceptions (ipwireless, ibmtr_cs) to also work this waym and set the IRQ handler's "dev_id" to p_dev->priv unconditionally. (4) Handler is to be of type irq_handler_t. (5) Handler != NULL already tells whether an IRQ handler is present. Therefore, we do not need the IRQ_HANDLER_PRESENT flag in irq_req_t.Attributes. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use pcmcia_loop_config() in a few drivers missed during the first round. | * | | | | libertas: remove internal buffers from GSPI driverAndrey Yurovsky2009-11-021-130/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes the internal command and data buffers that the GSPI driver maintained and instead relies on the Libertas core to synchronize access to the command and data ports as with the other interface drivers. This cleanup reduces the GSPI driver's memory footprint and should improve performance by removing the need to copy to these internal buffers. This also simplifies the bottom half of the interrupt handler. This is an incremental cleanup: after removing the redundant buffers, we can further improve the driver to use a threaded IRQ handler instead of maintaining its own thread. However I would like a few folks to test the buffer removal first and make sure that I'm not introducing regressions. Tested on Blackfin BF527 with DMA disabled due to an issue with the SPI host controller driver in the current bleeding-edge Blackfin kernel. I would appreciate it if someone with working DMA could test this patch and provide feedback. The libertas usb driver passes it to usb_fill_bulk_urb() anyway, causing interesting crashes. Fix that by using skb->data instead. This highlights a problem with usb_fill_bulk_urb(). It doesn't notice when dma_map_single() fails and return the error to its caller as it should. In fact it _can't_ currently return the error, since it returns void. So this problem was showing up only at unmap time, after we'd already suffered memory corruption by doing DMA to a bogus address. When setting SNMP_MIB_OID_BSS_TYPE, wext.c can directly calculate the value the firmware wants. Reading of SNMP_MIB_OID_BSS_TYPE doesn't happen anywhere, so no need to convert the firmware value into WEXT values anyway.
