* of/device: Replace struct of_device with struct platform_deviceGrant Likely2010-08-061-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | of_device is just an alias for platform_device, so remove it entirely. Also replace to_of_device() with to_platform_device() and update comment blocks. This patch was initially generated from the following semantic patch, and then edited by hand to pick up the bits that coccinelle didn't catch. @@ @@ -struct of_device +struct platform_device Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Reviewed-by: David S. * net: preserve ifreq parameter when calling generic phy_mii_ioctl().Richard Cochran2010-07-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The phy_mii_ioctl() function unnecessarily throws away the original ifreq. We need access to the ifreq in order to support PHYs that can perform hardware time stamping. Two maverick drivers filter the ioctl commands passed to phy_mii_ioctl(). This is unnecessary since phylib will check the command in any case. * | of: Remove duplicate fields from of_platform_driverGrant Likely2010-05-221-2/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | .name, .match_table and .owner are duplicated in both of_platform_driver and device_driver. This patch is a removes the extra copies from struct of_platform_driver and converts all users to the device_driver members. This patch is a pretty mechanical change. The usage model doesn't change and if any drivers have been missed, or if anything has been fixed up incorrectly, then it will fail with a compile time error, and the fixup will be trivial. This patch looks big and scary because it touches so many files, but it should be pretty safe. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit 7583605b6d29f1f7f6fc505b883328089f3485ad ("ucc_geth: Fix empty TX queue processing") fixed empty TX queue mishandling, but didn't account another corner case: when TX queue becomes full. Without this patch the driver will stop transmiting when TX queue becomes full since 'bd == ugeth->txBd[txQ]' actually checks for two things: queue empty or full. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Inspired by the patch for 8139too (bda6a15a). Currently we can't set mac address on a running ucc_geth device. But this is needed when you use this device as a bonding slave in bonding device in balance-alb mode. So add this feature for ucc_geth device. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Previous rework to ucc_geth.c to add of_mdio support (net: Rework ucc_geth driver to use of_mdio infrastructure) added a block of code which broke older openfirmware device trees which this case.
