* net/mlx4_en: Fix HW timestamp init issue upon system startupEugenia Emantayev2015-12-181-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | mlx4_en_init_timestamp was called before creation of netdev and port init, thus used uninitialized values. Specifically - NIC frequency was incorrect causing wrong calculations and later wrong HW timestamps. * ptp: mlx4: use helpers for converting ns to timespec.Richard Cochran2015-03-311-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This patch changes the driver to use ns_to_timespec64() instead of open coding the same logic. Compile tested only. Signed-off-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* ptp: mlx4: convert to the 64 bit get/set time methods.Richard Cochran2015-03-311-5/+6
| | | | | | | | | | This driver's clock is implemented using a timecounter, and so with this patch the driver is ready for the year 2038. Compile tested only. Signed-off-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* mlx4: include clocksource.h againRichard Cochran2015-01-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | This driver uses the function, clocksource_khz2mult, and so it really must include clocksource.h. Signed-off-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* timecounter: keep track of accumulated fractional nanosecondsRichard Cochran2014-12-301-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The current timecounter implementation will drop a variable amount of resolution, depending on the magnitude of the time delta. In other words, reading the clock too often or too close to a time stamp conversion will introduce errors into the time values. This patch fixes the issue by introducing a fractional nanosecond field that accumulates the low order bits. * net: mlx4: convert to timecounter adjtime.Richard Cochran2014-12-301-4/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This patch changes the driver to use the new and improved method for adjusting the offset of a timecounter. Compile tested only. Signed-off-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net/mlx4_en: Add ethtool support for [rx|tx]vlan offload set to OFF/ONSaeed Mahameed2014-10-281-77/+0
| | | | | | | | | Move mlx4_en_reset_config to en_netdev.c as it now serves more general purpose. Add support for turning OFF/ON the rx/tx vlan offlad. * net/mlx4_en: Add support for setting rxvlan offload OFF/ONSaeed Mahameed2014-10-281-11/+42
| | | | | | | | | Rename mlx4_en_timestamp_config to mlx4_en_reset_config and extend it to support choosing RX vlan offload configuration. Signed-off-by: Saeed Mahameed <saeedm@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: Amir Vadai <amirv@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* ptp: drivers: set the number of programmable pins.Richard Cochran2014-03-211-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch updates the many PTP Hardware Clock drivers with the newly introduced field that advertises the number of programmable pins. Some of these devices do have programmable pins, but the implementation will have to wait for follow on patches. * mlx4_en: Only cycle port if HW timestamp config changesShawn Bohrer2014-01-021-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | If the hwtstamp_config matches what is currently set for the device then simply return. Without this change any program that tries to enable hardware timestamps will cause the link to cycle even if hardware timstamps were already enabled. * mlx4_en: Add PTP hardware clockShawn Bohrer2014-01-021-8/+186
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds a PHC to the mlx4_en driver. We use reader/writer spinlocks to protect the timecounter since every packet received needs to call timecounter_cycle2time() when timestamping is enabled. This can become a performance bottleneck with RSS and multiple receive queues if normal spinlocks are used. This driver has been tested with both Documentation/ptp/testptp and the linuxptp project (http://linuxptp.sourceforge.net/) on a Mellanox ConnectX-3 card. * mlx4_en: fix a build error on 32bit archesEric Dumazet2013-04-301-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit b6c39bfcf1d7d63 ("net/mlx4_en: Add a service task") added a build error on 32bit arches. ERROR: "__udivdi3" [drivers/net/ethernet/mellanox/mlx4/mlx4_en.ko] undefined! * net/mlx4_en: Add a service taskAmir Vadai2013-04-241-0/+19
| | | | | | | | | | Add a service task to run tasks that needed to be executed periodically. Currently the only task is a watchdog to catch NIC clock overflow, to make timestamping accurate. Will move the statistics task into this framework in a later patch. Signed-off-by: Amir Vadai <amirv@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net/mlx4_en: Add HW timestamping (TS) supportAmir Vadai2013-04-241-0/+132
The patch allows to enable/disable HW timestamping for incoming and/or outgoing packets. It adds and initializes all structs and callbacks needed by kernel TS API. To enable/disable HW timestamping appropriate ioctl should be used. Currently HWTSTAMP_FILTER_ALL/NONE and HWTSAMP_TX_ON/OFF only are supported. When enabling TS on receive flow - VLAN stripping will be disabled. Also were made all relevant changes in RX/TX flows to consider TS request and plant HW timestamps into relevant structures. mlx4_ib was fixed to compile with new mlx4_cq_alloc() signature.
