* mtd: do not use plain 0 as NULLArtem Bityutskiy2012-03-271-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The first 3 arguments of 'mtd_device_parse_register()' are pointers, but many callers pass '0' instead of 'NULL'. Fix this globally. Thanks to coccinelle for making it easy to do with the following semantic patch: @@ expression mtd, types, parser_data, parts, nr_parts; @@ ( -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, 0, parser_data, parts, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, NULL, parser_data, parts, nr_parts) | -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, 0, parts, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, NULL, parts, nr_parts) | -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, parser_data, 0, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, parser_data, NULL, nr_parts) ) Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <David.Woodhouse@intel.com>
* mtd: convert drivers/mtd/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin2012-01-091-14/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the drivers in drivers/mtd/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. * mtd: onenand: remove redundant mtd_device_unregister before onenand_releaseAxel Lin2011-09-111-1/+0
| | | | | | | | onenand_release() will call mtd_device_unregister(), thus remove the redundant mtd_device_unregister() call before onenand_release(). Signed-off-by: Axel Lin <axel.lin@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <dedekind1@gmail.com>
* mtd: onenand/generic.c: use mtd_device_parse_registerDmitry Eremin-Solenikov2011-09-111-8/+3
| | | | | | | | | Replace custom invocations of parse_mtd_partitions and mtd_device_register with common mtd_device_parse_register call. This would bring: standard handling of all errors, fallback to default partitions, etc. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
* mtd: onenand/generic don't specify default parsing optionsDmitry Eremin-Solenikov2011-09-111-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | Since 'cmdline, NULL' is now a default for parse_mtd_partitions, don't specify this in every driver, instead pass NULL to force parse_mtd_partitions to use default. * mtd: onenand: make onenand/generic.c more genericMagnus Damm2009-09-191-10/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the ARM dependency from the generic "onenand" platform device driver. This change makes the driver useful for other architectures as well. Needed for the SuperH kfr2r09 board. Apart from the obvious Kconfig bits, the most important change is the move away from ARM specific includes and platform data. Together with this change the only in-tree board code gets an update, and the driver name is also changed gracefully break potential out of tree drivers. The driver is also updated to allow NULL as platform data together with a few changes to make use of resource_size() and dev_name(). * platform driver: fix incorrect use of 'platform_bus_type' with 'struct ↵Ming Lei2009-03-241-13/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | device_driver' This patch fixes the bug reported in http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11681. "Lots of device drivers register a 'struct device_driver' with the '.bus' member set to '&platform_bus_type'. This is wrong, since the platform_bus functions expect the 'struct device_driver' to be wrapped up in a 'struct platform_driver' which provides some additional callbacks (like suspend_late, resume_early). The effect may be that platform_suspend_late() uses bogus data outside the device_driver struct as a pointer pointer to the device driver's suspend_late() function or other hard to reproduce failures."(Lothar Wassmann) Signed-off-by: Ming Lei <tom.leiming@gmail.com> Acked-by: Henrique de Moraes Holschuh <hmh@hmh.eng.br> Acked-by: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
