| * V4L/DVB (8611): Add suspend/resume to pxa_camera driverRobert Jarzmik2008-08-061-0/+56
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | PXA suspend switches off DMA core, which loses all context of previously assigned descriptors. As pxa_camera driver relies on DMA transfers, setup the lost descriptors on resume and retrigger frame acquisition if needed. | * V4L/DVB (8610): Add suspend/resume capabilities to soc_camera.Robert Jarzmik2008-08-061-0/+26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add suspend/resume hooks to call soc operation specific suspend and resume functions. This ensures the camera chip has been previously resumed, as well as the camera bus. These hooks in camera chip drivers should save/restore chip context between suspend and resume time. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | So, platform_driver_unregister() doesn't actually have a return value, nor do any of the void __exit routines. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The offset field of the scatterlist entry *after* the last valid scatterlist entry was used instead of the first scatterlist entry (as was the intention of this code). This worked fine until the kzalloc of the sglist was replaced with kmalloc and sg_init_table only zeroed the exact needed length. Apparently kzalloc zeroes a bit more than is strictly necessary so the offset field was always 0 in the past. But now the offset field was suddenly random and this led to broken captures. | * dma-mapping: add the device argument to dma_mapping_error()FUJITA Tomonori2008-07-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add per-device dma_mapping_ops support for CONFIG_X86_64 as POWER architecture does: This enables us to cleanly fix the Calgary IOMMU issue that some devices are not behind the IOMMU (http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/5/8/423). I think that per-device dma_mapping_ops support would be also helpful for KVM people to support PCI passthrough but Andi thinks that this makes it difficult to support the PCI passthrough (see the above thread). So I CC'ed this to KVM camp. Comments are appreciated. A pointer to dma_mapping_ops to struct dev_archdata is added. If the pointer is non NULL, DMA operations in asm/dma-mapping.h use it. If it's NULL, the system-wide dma_ops pointer is used as before. If it's useful for KVM people, I plan to implement a mechanism to register a hook called when a new pci (or dma capable) device is created (it works with hot plugging). It enables IOMMUs to set up an appropriate dma_mapping_ops per device. The major obstacle is that dma_mapping_error doesn't take a pointer to the device unlike other DMA operations. So x86 can't have dma_mapping_ops per device. Note all the POWER IOMMUs use the same dma_mapping_error function so this is not a problem for POWER but x86 IOMMUs use different dma_mapping_error functions. The first patch adds the device argument to dma_mapping_error. The patch is trivial but large since it touches lots of drivers and dma-mapping.h in all the architecture. This patch: dma_mapping_error() doesn't take a pointer to the device unlike other DMA operations. So we can't have dma_mapping_ops per device. Note that POWER already has dma_mapping_ops per device but all the POWER IOMMUs use the same dma_mapping_error function. x86 IOMMUs use device argument. | * PAGE_ALIGN(): correctly handle 64-bit values on 32-bit architecturesAndrea Righi2008-07-244-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On 32-bit architectures PAGE_ALIGN() truncates 64-bit values to the 32-bit boundary. For example: u64 val = PAGE_ALIGN(size); always returns a value < 4GB even if size is greater than 4GB. The problem resides in PAGE_MASK definition (from include/asm-x86/page.h for example): #define PAGE_SHIFT 12 #define PAGE_SIZE (_AC(1,UL) << PAGE_SHIFT) #define PAGE_MASK (~(PAGE_SIZE-1)) ... #define PAGE_ALIGN(addr) (((addr)+PAGE_SIZE-1)&PAGE_MASK) The "~" is performed on a 32-bit value, so everything in "and" with PAGE_MASK greater than 4GB will be truncated to the 32-bit boundary. Using the ALIGN() macro seems to be the right way, because it uses typeof(addr) for the mask. Also move the PAGE_ALIGN() definitions out of include/asm-*/page.h in include/linux/mm.h.
