I audited the drivers that invoke this helper and I believe all of them initialize the mode_config struct accordingly, prior to calling the fb_helper. I used the following coccinelle hack to make this transformation, except for the function headers and comment updates. * drm: Add Allwinner A10 Display Engine supportMaxime Ripard2016-04-281-0/+54
The Allwinner A10 and subsequent SoCs share the same display pipeline, with variations in the number of controllers (1 or 2), or the presence or not of some output (HDMI, TV, VGA) or not.
