* drm/exynos: fix error handling in exynos_drm_subdrv_openArnd Bergmann2016-04-121-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | gcc-6 warns about a pointless loop in exynos_drm_subdrv_open: drivers/gpu/drm/exynos/exynos_drm_core.c: In function 'exynos_drm_subdrv_open': drivers/gpu/drm/exynos/exynos_drm_core.c:104:199: error: self-comparison always evaluates to false [-Werror=tautological-compare] list_for_each_entry_reverse(subdrv, &subdrv->list, list) { Here, the list_for_each_entry_reverse immediately terminates because the subdrv pointer is compared to itself as the loop end condition. If we were to take the current subdrv pointer as the start of the list (as we would do if list_for_each_entry_reverse() was not a macro), we would iterate backwards over the &exynos_drm_subdrv_list anchor, which would be even worse. Instead, we need to use list_for_each_entry_continue_reverse() to go back over each subdrv that was successfully opened until the first entry. * drm/exynos: Remove useless EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPLsDaniel Kurtz2015-09-301-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | All the user of these functions are inside exynos-drm driver and you don't need to export the symbols for that case. Signed-off-by: Daniel Kurtz <djkurtz@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
* drm/exynos: remove struct exynos_drm_encoder layerGustavo Padovan2015-08-161-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | struct exynos_drm_encoder was justing wrapping struct drm_encoder, it had only a drm_encoder member and the internal exynos_drm_encoders ops that was directly mapped to the drm_encoder helper funcs. So now exynos DRM uses struct drm_encoder directly, this removes completely the struct exynos_drm_encoder. v2: add empty .mode_fixup() and .mode_set() to DSI and DPI to avoid null pointer. * drm/exynos: remove exynos_drm_create_enc_conn()Gustavo Padovan2015-08-161-30/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This functions was just hiding the encoder and connector creation in a way that was less clean than if we get rid of it. For example, exynos_encoder ops had .create_connector() defined only because we were handing off the encoder and connector creation to exynos_drm_create_enc_conn(). Without this function we can directly call the create_connector function internally in the code, without the need of any vtable access. It also does some refactoring in the code like creating a bind function for dpi devices. * drm/exynos: remove struct exynos_drm_displayGustavo Padovan2015-08-161-14/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This struct was just representing encoder information, it was a member of struct exynos_drm_encoder, so any code trying to access encoder data would have to go through the encoder struct, get the display struct and then get the data it want. During this patchset we also realized that the only data exynos_drm_encoder needs to store is the drm_encoder parent and the exynos_drm_encoder_ops. * drm/exynos: add component framework supportInki Dae2014-06-021-180/+36
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds component framework support to resolve the probe order issue. Until now, exynos drm had used codes specific to exynos drm to resolve that issue so with this patch, the specific codes are removed. Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
* drm/exynos: Remove the exynos_drm_connector shimSean Paul2014-03-241-16/+5
| | | | | | | | | This path removes the exynos_drm_connector code since it was just passing hooks through display_ops. The individual device drivers are now responsible for implementing drm_connector directly. Signed-off-by: Sean Paul <seanpaul@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
* drm/exynos: Add create_connector callbackSean Paul2014-03-241-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | This creates a new display hook called create_connector. The purpose is to allow the display driver to create its own drm_connector instead of using the exynos_drm_connector. This moves things closer to completely removing the exynos_drm_connector abstraction. Signed-off-by: Sean Paul <seanpaul@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
* drm/exynos: Split manager/display/subdrvSean Paul2014-03-241-45/+134
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch splits display and manager from subdrv. The result is that crtc functions can directly call into manager callbacks and encoder functions can directly call into display callbacks. This will allow us to remove the exynos_drm_hdmi shim and support mixer/hdmi & fimd/dp with common code. * drm/exynos: Remove tracking log functionsYoungJun Cho2013-06-281-12/+0

* drm/exynos: change file license to GPLInki Dae2013-01-041-18/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch changes file license to GPL Most of exynos files had been copied from some random file and not updated correctly. So this patch corrects the file license. Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kyungmin Park <kyungmin.park@samsung.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Changelog v2: fixed the issue that when sub driver is probed, no kms drivers such as fimd or hdmi are failed. no kms drivers have no manager so if manager is null then encoder and connector creation should be ignored. * drm/exynos: fix to pointer manager member of struct exynos_drm_subdrvJoonyoung Shim2012-04-121-6/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | The struct exynos_drm_manager has to exist for exynos drm sub driver using encoder and connector. * drm/exynos: remove module of exynos drm subdrvJoonyoung Shim2012-03-201-105/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The exynos drm driver has several subdrv. They each can be module but it causes unfixed probe order of exynodr drm driver and each subdrv. It also needs some weird codes such as exynos_drm_fbdev_reinit and exynos_drm_mode_group_reinit. This patch can remove weird codes and clear codes through we doesn't modularity each subdrv. * DRM: add DRM Driver for Samsung SoC EXYNOS4210.Inki Dae2011-10-051-0/+272
This patch is a DRM Driver for Samsung SoC Exynos4210 and now enables only FIMD yet but we will add HDMI support also in the future. this patch is based on git repository below: git://people.freedesktop.org/~airlied/linux.git branch name: drm-next commit-id: 88ef4e3f4f616462b78a7838eb3ffc3818d30f67 you can refer to our working repository below: http://git.infradead.org/users/kmpark/linux-2.6-samsung branch name: samsung-drm We tried to re-use lowlevel codes of the FIMD driver(s3c-fb.c based on Linux framebuffer) but couldn't so because lowlevel codes of s3c-fb.c are included internally and so FIMD module of this driver has its own lowlevel codes. We used GEM framework for buffer management and DMA APIs(dma_alloc_*) for buffer allocation so we can allocate physically continuous memory for DMA through it and also we could use CMA later if CMA is applied to mainline. Refer to this link for CMA(Continuous Memory Allocator): http://lkml.org/lkml/2011/7/20/45 this driver supports only physically continuous memory(non-iommu). Links to previous versions of the patchset: v1: < https://lwn.net/Articles/454380/ > v2: < http://www.spinics.net/lists/kernel/msg1224275.html > v3: < http://www.spinics.net/lists/dri-devel/msg13755.html > v4: < http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.dri.devel/60439 > v5: < http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.dri.devel/60802 > Changelog v2: DRM: add DRM_IOCTL_SAMSUNG_GEM_MMAP ioctl command. this feature maps user address space to physical memory region once user application requests DRM_IOCTL_SAMSUNG_GEM_MMAP ioctl. DRM: code clean and add exception codes. Changelog v3: DRM: Support multiple irq. FIMD and HDMI have their own irq handler but DRM Framework can regiter only one irq handler this patch supports mutiple irq for Samsung SoC. DRM: Consider modularization. each DRM, FIMD could be built as a module. DRM: Have indenpendent crtc object. crtc isn't specific to SoC Platform so this patch gets a crtc to be used as common object. created crtc could be attached to any encoder object. DRM: code clean and add exception codes. Changelog v4: DRM: remove is_defult from samsung_fb. is_default isn't used for default framebuffer. DRM: code refactoring to fimd module. this patch is be considered with multiple display objects and would use its own request_irq() to register a irq handler instead of drm framework's one. DRM: remove find_samsung_drm_gem_object() DRM: move kernel private data structures and definitions to driver folder. samsung_drm.h would contain only public information for userspace ioctl interface. DRM: code refactoring to gem modules. buffer module isn't dependent of gem module anymore. DRM: fixed security issue. DRM: remove encoder porinter from specific connector. samsung connector doesn't need to have generic encoder. DRM: code clean and add exception codes. Changelog v5: DRM: updated fimd(display controller) driver. added various pixel formats, color key and pixel blending features. DRM: removed end_buf_off from samsung_drm_overlay structure. this variable isn't used and end buffer address would be calculated by each sub driver. DRM: use generic function for mmap_offset. replaced samsung_drm_gem_create_mmap_offset() and samsung_drm_free_mmap_offset() with generic ones applied to mainline recentrly. DRM: removed unnecessary codes and added exception codes. DRM: added comments and code clean. Changelog v6: DRM: added default config options. DRM: added padding for 64-bit align. DRM: changed prefix 'samsung' to 'exynos' Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Joonyoung Shim <jy0922.shim@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Seung-Woo Kim <sw0312.kim@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kyungmin Park <kyungmin.park@samsung.com> Reviewed-by: Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk <konrad.wilk@oracle.com> Reviewed-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
