* drm: encoder_slave: Don't use i2c_client->driverLars-Peter Clausen2013-10-031-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | The 'driver' field of the i2c_client struct is redundant and is going to be removed. The results of the expressions 'client->driver.driver->field' and 'client->dev.driver->field' are identical, so replace all occurrences of the former with the later. To get direct access to the i2c_driver struct use 'to_i2c_driver(client->dev.driver)'. Signed-off-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
* drm: refactor call to request_moduleKees Cook2013-05-101-5/+1
| | | | | | | | | This reduces the size of the stack frame when calling request_module(). Performing the sprintf before the call is not needed. Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org> Acked-by: Paul Menzel <paulepanter@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
* drm: i2c encoder helper wrappersRob Clark2013-02-171-0/+63
| | | | | | | | Simplify life for drivers using an encoder-slave, so that they can make their drm_encoder_helper_funcs const, rather than needing to dynamically allocate and populate them. Signed-off-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@gmail.com>

* gpu: add module.h to drivers/gpu files as required.Paul Gortmaker2011-10-311-0/+2
| | | | | | | So that we don't get build failures once the implicit module.h presence is removed. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
* drm/kms: Simplify setup of the initial I2C encoder config.Francisco Jerez2010-08-051-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | In most use cases the driver will be using the same static config all the time: interpreting i2c_board_info::platform_data as the default config we can can save the GPU driver a redundant set_config() call. * drm/kms: slave encoder interface.Francisco Jerez2009-08-041-0/+116
Define some helper functions to make easier to detach a KMS encoder implementation from the drm module of the GPU it's used in. This is mainly useful for some external I2C encoders known to be present on cards with GPUs from several different manufacturers.
