* [PATCH] cdrom/mcdx: section fixesRandy Dunlap2006-06-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Priority: not critical. Make __mcdx_init() __init and static. Saves a little memory. Fix section mismatch warning and make the function static while there: WARNING: drivers/cdrom/mcdx.o - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: from .text between 'init_module' (at offset 0x8be) and 'mcdx_transfer' Signed-off-by: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@xenotime.net> Cc: Jens Axboe <axboe@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

* | [PATCH] fix cdrom openJens Axboe2006-06-171-2/+4
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some time ago the cdrom open routine was changed so that we call the driver's open routine before checking to see if it is read only. However, if we discovered that a read write open was not possible and the open flags required a writable open, we just returned -EROFS without calling the driver's release routine. This seems to work for most cdrom drivers, but breaks the Powerpc iSeries virtual cdrom rather badly. This just inserts the release call in the error path to balance the call to "->open()" done by "open_for_data()". * [PATCH] Remove MODULE_PARMRusty Russell2006-03-252-6/+12
| | | | | | | | | | MODULE_PARM was actually breaking: recent gcc version optimize them out as unused. It's time to replace the last users, which are generally in the most unloved drivers anyway. * [PATCH] kill cdrom ->dev_ioctl methodChristoph Hellwig2006-03-235-398/+373
| | | | | | | | | | | Since early 2.4.x all cdrom drivers implement the block_device methods themselves, so they can handle additional ioctls directly instead of going through the cdrom layer. * [BLOCK] add @uptodate to end_that_request_last() and @error to rq_end_io_fn()Tejun Heo2006-01-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | add @uptodate argument to end_that_request_last() and @error to rq_end_io_fn(). there's no generic way to pass error code to request completion function, making generic error handling of non-fs request difficult (rq->errors is driver-specific and each driver uses it differently). this patch adds @uptodate to end_that_request_last() and @error to rq_end_io_fn(). for fs requests, this doesn't really matter, so just using the same uptodate argument used in the last call to end_that_request_first() should suffice. imho, this can also help the generic command-carrying request jens is working on. * [PATCH] vfree and kfree cleanup in drivers/Jesper Juhl2005-09-101-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch does a full cleanup of 'NULL checks before vfree', and a partial cleanup of calls to kfree for all of drivers/ - the kfree bit is partial in that I only did the files that also had vfree calls in them. The patch also gets rid of some redundant (void *) casts of pointers being passed to [vk]free, and a some tiny whitespace corrections also crept in. * | [PATCH] clean up inline static vs static inlineJesper Juhl2005-07-271-14/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | `gcc -W' likes to complain if the static keyword is not at the beginning of the declaration. This patch fixes all remaining occurrences of "inline static" up with "static inline" in the entire kernel tree (140 occurrences in 47 files). While making this change I came across a few lines with trailing whitespace that I also fixed up, I have also added or removed a blank line or two here and there, but there are no functional changes in the patch. * Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds2005-04-1624-0/+29124
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
