* Merge branch 'x86-fpu-for-linus' of ↵Linus Torvalds2012-05-231-3/+0
|\ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip Pull fpu state cleanups from Ingo Molnar: "This tree streamlines further aspects of FPU handling by eliminating the prepare_to_copy() complication and moving that logic to arch_dup_task_struct(). It also fixes the FPU dumps in threaded core dumps, removes and old (and now invalid) assumption plus micro-optimizes the exit path by avoiding an FPU save for dead tasks." Fixed up trivial add-add conflict in arch/sh/kernel/process.c that came in because we now do the FPU handling in arch_dup_task_struct() rather than the legacy (and now gone) prepare_to_copy(). * 'x86-fpu-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: x86, fpu: drop the fpu state during thread exit x86, xsave: remove thread_has_fpu() bug check in __sanitize_i387_state() coredump: ensure the fpu state is flushed for proper multi-threaded core dump fork: move the real prepare_to_copy() users to arch_dup_task_struct()

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Historical prepare_to_copy() is mostly a no-op, duplicated for majority of the architectures and the rest following the x86 model of flushing the extended register state like fpu there. Remove it and use the arch_dup_task_struct() instead. * sparc: add '32' suffix to reg_window, sigcontext, __siginfo_tSam Ravnborg2009-01-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Renaming a few types to contain a 32 suffix makes the type names compatible with sparc64 and thus makes sharing between the two a lot easier. Note: None of these definitions are expected part of the stable ABI towards userspace. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* sparc, sparc64: use arch/sparc/includeSam Ravnborg2008-07-271-0/+128
The majority of this patch was created by the following script: *** ASM=arch/sparc/include/asm mkdir -p $ASM git mv include/asm-sparc64/ftrace.h $ASM git rm include/asm-sparc64/* git mv include/asm-sparc/* $ASM sed -ie 's/asm-sparc64/asm/g' $ASM/* sed -ie 's/asm-sparc/asm/g' $ASM/* *** The rest was an update of the top-level Makefile to use sparc for header files when sparc64 is being build. And a small fixlet to pick up the correct unistd.h from sparc64 code. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>
