* powerpc: consolidate cputable.cStephen Rothwell2005-10-131-260/+0
| | | | | | Also simplify arch/ppc64/kernel/Makefile Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au>
* [PATCH] powerpc: merged asm/cputable.hKumar Gala2005-09-281-65/+17
| | | | | | | | | | Merged cputable.h between ppc32 and ppc64. In doing this removed support for the BEGIN_FTR_SECTION/END_FTR_SECTION macros in C code since they dont compile correctly. C code should use cpu_has_feature(). This is based on Arnd Bergmann's initial patch. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <kumar.gala@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: Fix build with oprofile disabledAnton Blanchard2005-09-061-0/+26
| | | | | | | Fix build with oprofile disabled. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: Move oprofile_model into cpu feature structAnton Blanchard2005-09-061-0/+14
| | | | | | | Move oprofile_model into cpu feature struct. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: Add oprofile cpu_type to cpu feature structAnton Blanchard2005-09-061-0/+13
| | | | | | | Add oprofile cpu_type to cpu feature struct. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: remove CPU_FTR_PMC8Anton Blanchard2005-09-061-13/+11
| | | | | | | | Remove the CPU_FTR_PMC8 feature now we encode the number of PMCs directly. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: add number of PMCs to cputableAnton Blanchard2005-09-061-0/+13
| | | | | | | Add a field in the cputable struct to store the number of PMCs. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: make firmware_has_feature() strongerStephen Rothwell2005-08-291-26/+1
| | | | | | | | Make firmware_has_feature() evaluate at compile time for the non pSeries case and tidy up code where possible. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: create firmware_has_feature()Stephen Rothwell2005-08-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Create the firmware_has_feature() inline and move the firmware feature stuff into its own header file. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: remove firmware features from cpu_specStephen Rothwell2005-08-291-15/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | The firmware_features field of struct cpu_spec should really be a separate variable as the firmware features do not depend on the chip and the bitmask is constructed independently. By removing it, we save 112 bytes from the cpu_specs array and we access the bitmask directly instead of via the cur_cpu_spec pointer. * [PATCH] ppc64: add 970MP PVROlof Johansson2005-07-131-0/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | Add PVR value and tests for 970MP. Also switch to a simpler (but slightly longer) check at init time for simplicity. * [PATCH] ppc64: Fix runlatch code to work on pseries machinesAnton Blanchard2005-07-071-4/+4
| | | | | | | | Not all ppc64 CPUs have the CTRL SPR, so we need a cputable feature for it. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: use c99 initialisers in cputable codeAnton Blanchard2005-07-071-153/+212
| | | | | | | | Use c99 initialisers in the cputable code. Signed-off-by: Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
* [PATCH] ppc64: add BPA platform typeArnd Bergmann2005-06-231-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the basic support for running on BPA machines. So far, this is only the IBM workstation, and it will not run on others without a little more generalization. It should be possible to configure a kernel for any combination of CONFIG_PPC_BPA with any of the other multiplatform targets. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
