* ppc: Remove CHRP, POWER3 and POWER4 support from arch/ppcPaul Mackerras2006-03-281-669/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 32-bit CHRP machines are now supported only in arch/powerpc, as are all 64-bit PowerPC processors. This means that we don't use Open Firmware on any platform in arch/ppc any more. This makes PReP support a single-platform option like every other platform support option in arch/ppc now, thus CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM is gone from arch/ppc. CONFIG_PPC_PREP is the option that selects PReP support and is generally what has replaced CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM within arch/ppc. _machine is all but dead now, being #defined to 0. Updated Makefiles, comments and Kconfig options generally to reflect these changes. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] powerpc: trivial: modify comments to refer to new location of filesJon Mason2006-02-101-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | This patch removes all self references and fixes references to files in the now defunct arch/ppc64 tree. I think this accomplises everything wanted, though there might be a few references I missed. Signed-off-by: Jon Mason <jdmason@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [PATCH] ppc: Remove powermac support from ARCH=ppcPaul Mackerras2006-01-151-2/+71
| | | | | | | | | | | This makes it possible to build kernels for PReP and/or CHRP with ARCH=ppc by removing the (non-building) powermac support. It's now also possible to select PReP and CHRP independently. Powermac users should now build with ARCH=powerpc instead of ARCH=ppc. (This does mean that it is no longer possible to build a 32-bit kernel for a G5.) Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

* [PATCH] ppc32: nvram driver for chrpOlaf Hering2005-10-291-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This implements a nvram acccess method, similar to arch/ppc64/kernel/pSeries_nvram.c tested on CHRP B50. * powerpc: Merge i8259.c into arch/powerpc/sysdevPaul Mackerras2005-10-261-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This changes the parameters for i8259_init so that it takes two parameters: a physical address for generating an interrupt acknowledge cycle, and an interrupt number offset. i8259_init now sets the irq_desc[] for its interrupts; all the callers were doing this, and that code is gone now. This also defines a CONFIG_PPC_I8259 symbol to select i8259.o for inclusion, and makes the platforms that need it select that symbol. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* ppc: Minor smp changes for consistency with ppc64Paul Mackerras2005-10-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | This makes platform code use the smp_ops variable directly instead of ppc_md.smp_ops, removes the two unused `data' and `wait' arguments from the *_message_pass() functions, and removes the call to the never-implemented smp_ops->space_timers() function. * | ppc: Adapt to asm-powerpc/irq.h irq_canonicalize changesPaul Mackerras2005-10-111-9/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now instead of having a ppc_md function, we just have a variable which says whether to do the i8259 irq canonicalization or not, and set that variable on the platforms that need that. It looks to me that radstone_ppc7d was trying to use irq canonicalization for something else in a broken kind of way - it will need to be fixed properly. * | [PATCH] powerpc: Remove sections use from ppcJon Loeliger2005-09-191-8/+8
|/ | | | | | | | | | | Here is a new patch that removes all notion of the pmac, prep, chrp and openfirmware initialization sections, and then unifies the sections.h files without those __pmac, etc, sections identifiers cluttering things up. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
