* [POWERPC] Add arch/powerpc support for the Motorola PrPMC2800Dale Farnsworth2007-05-123-0/+180
| | | | | | | | | This finally adds the PPC_PRPMC2800 Kconfig option, the board setup code (the setup and reset functions) and the defconfig, to support the Motorola PrPMC2800 platform. Signed-off-by: Dale Farnsworth <dale@farnsworth.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Check cache coherency of kernel vs firmwareDale Farnsworth2007-05-121-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | check_cache_coherency() verifies that the cache coherency setting of the kernel (CONFIG_NOT_COHERENT_CACHE) matches that left by the firmware, as indicated by coherency-off device tree property. * [POWERPC] Add Marvell mv64x60 PCI bridge supportDale Farnsworth2007-05-121-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds PCI bridge support for the Marvell mv64x60 chip. We also provide the ability to read/write the mv64x60 hotswap register via sysfs if the hs_reg_valid property is set in the device tree. * [POWERPC] Create Marvell mv64x60 MPSC (serial) platform_dataDale Farnsworth2007-05-121-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch creates platform_device entries for the Marvell mv64x60 MPSC (multi-protocol serial controller) ports, based on information contained in the device tree. This driver (like the other mv64x60 drivers) are unusual in that it works on both the MIPS and PowerPC architectures. Because of that, the drivers do not support the normal PowerPC of_platform_bus_type. They support platform_bus_type instead. * [POWERPC] Removed config options that we don't support in embedded6xxKumar Gala2007-03-221-262/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | When we started arch/powerpc we duplicated a number of config options from arch/ppc for various platforms that are supported. Now that we actually support a few platforms, remove all the ones that haven't been moved over. Additionally, this cleanup moved the 82xx/PQ2 options over into arch/powerpc/platforms/82xx/Kconfig where they belong. It also killed GEN550 which doesn't exist in arch/powerpc. * [POWERPC] Update to linkstation / kurobox supportGuennadi Liakhovetski2007-02-091-12/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | Linkstation systems capable of running mainline kernels use u-boot as a bootloader, so, specifying a suitable kernel command is not a problem. Don't guess. Also extend linkstation_defconfig to support the linkstation HS model with a IT8212 IDE controller and kuroboxHD/HD-HLAN linkstation models with a tulip ethernet chip. The latter also require a slightly different .dts file, which is also included with this patch. * [POWERPC] Put mpc52xx support file in platforms/52xxGrant Likely2006-12-041-12/+0
| | | | | | | | | | platforms/embedded6xx is probably going away, and 52xx boards need some extra support the 52xx interrupt controller and DMA engine anyway. It makes sense to group all the 52xx bits into a single path. * [POWERPC] Make pci_read_irq_line the default on mpc7448hpc2 boardZang Roy-r619112006-12-041-65/+23
| | | | | | | | | The following patch adds a tsi108/9 pci interrupt controller host. On mpc7448hpc2 board, pci_irq_fixup function is removed, which makes the pci_read_irq_line be the default pci irq fixup. * [POWERPC] Make pci_read_irq_line the defaultBenjamin Herrenschmidt2006-12-041-11/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch reworks the way IRQs are fixed up on PCI for arch powerpc. It makes pci_read_irq_line() called by default in the PCI code for devices that are probed, and add an optional per-device fixup in ppc_md for platforms that really need to correct what they obtain from pci_read_irq_line(). It also removes ppc_md.irq_bus_setup which was only used by pSeries and should not be needed anymore. I've also removed the pSeries s7a workaround as it can't work with the current interrupt code anyway. I'm trying to get one of these machines working so I can test a proper fix for that problem. I also haven't updated the old-style fixup code from 85xx_cds.c because it's actually buggy :) It assigns pci_dev->irq hard coded numbers which is no good with the new IRQ mapping code. It should at least use irq_create_mapping(NULL, hard_coded_number); and possibly also set_irq_type() to set them as level low. * [POWERPC] Fix up after irq changesOlaf Hering2006-10-071-3/+2

| * [POWERPC] Support for "weird" MPICs and fixup mpc7448_hpc2Zang Roy-r619112006-08-302-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds a new hardware information table for mpic. This enables the mpic code to deal with mpic controllers with different register layouts and hardware behaviours. This introduces CONFIG_MPIC_WEIRD. For boards with non standard mpic controllers, select CONFIG_MPIC_WEIRD and add its hardware information in the mpic_infos[] array. TSI108/109 PIC takes the first index of weird hardware information table. :) The table can be extended. The Tsi108/109 PIC looks like standard OpenPIC but, in fact, is different in register mapping and behavior. The patch does not affect the behavior of standard mpic. If CONFIG_MPIC_WEIRD is not defined, the code is essentially identical to the current code. [benh@kernel.crashing.org: This patch is a slightly cleaned up version of Zang Roy's support for the TSI108 MPIC variant. It also fixes up MPC7448_hpc2 to use the new version of the type macros and changes the way MPIC is selected in Kconfig to better match what is done for other system devices. ] Signed-off-by: Roy Zang <tie-fei.zang@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

* [PATCH] powerpc: Updated Kconfig and Makefiles for 83xx supportKumar Gala2006-01-111-18/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Updated Kconfig & Makefiles in prep for adding support for the Freescale MPC83xx family of processors to arch/powerpc. Moved around some config options that are more globally applicable to other PowerPC processors. Added a temporary config option (83xx) to match existing arch/ppc support for the MPC83xx line. * powerpc: Merge i8259.c into arch/powerpc/sysdevPaul Mackerras2005-10-261-0/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | This changes the parameters for i8259_init so that it takes two parameters: a physical address for generating an interrupt acknowledge cycle, and an interrupt number offset. i8259_init now sets the irq_desc[] for its interrupts; all the callers were doing this, and that code is gone now. This also defines a CONFIG_PPC_I8259 symbol to select i8259.o for inclusion, and makes the platforms that need it select that symbol. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* ppc: Use the indirect_pci.c from arch/powerpc/sysdevPaul Mackerras2005-10-261-0/+8
| | | | | | | | This defines a CONFIG_INDIRECT_PCI symbol to control whether it gets used or not, and fixes the Kconfig to select that symbol for platforms that need it. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

* powerpc: Merge enough to start building in arch/powerpc.Paul Mackerras2005-09-261-0/+313
This creates the directory structure under arch/powerpc and a bunch of Kconfig files. It does a first-cut merge of arch/powerpc/mm, arch/powerpc/lib and arch/powerpc/platforms/powermac. This is enough to build a 32-bit powermac kernel with ARCH=powerpc. For now we are getting some unmerged files from arch/ppc/kernel and arch/ppc/syslib, or arch/ppc64/kernel. This makes some minor changes to files in those directories and files outside arch/powerpc. The boot directory is still not merged. That's going to be interesting.
