* [POWERPC] Make endianess of cfg_addr for indirect pci ops runtimeKumar Gala2007-07-231-3/+4
| | | | | | | | Make it so we do a runtime check to know if we need to write cfg_addr as big or little endian. This is needed if we want to allow 86xx support to co-exist in the same kernel as other 6xx PPCs. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Merge ppc32 and ppc64 pcibios_alloc_controller() prototypesKumar Gala2007-06-291-2/+1
| | | | | | | Make the ppc32 pcibios_alloc_controller take a device node to match the ppc64 prototypes and have it set arch_data. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Use global_number in ppc32 pci_controllerKumar Gala2007-06-291-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Make the pci_controller struct use global_number for the PHB domain number instead of index to match what ppc64 does and reuse its pci_domain_nr code. Introduced a pci-common.c to handle shared code between ppc32 & ppc64. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* [POWERPC] Rename device_is_compatible to of_device_is_compatibleStephen Rothwell2007-05-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | for consistency with other Open Firmware interfaces (and Sparc). This is just a straight replacement. This leaves the compatibility define in place. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Remove old interface find_devicesStephen Rothwell2007-04-241-2/+4
| | | | | | | Replace uses with of_find_node_by_name and for_each_node_by_name. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Remove old interface find_path_deviceStephen Rothwell2007-04-241-3/+4

* [POWERPC] Remove unused inclusion of linux/ide.hOlaf Hering2007-04-131-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove unneeded inclusion of linux/ide.h It does not compile with CONFIG_BLOCK=n. Remove asm/ide.h from ksyms file, it gets included earlier via linux/ide.h. Compile tested with all defconfig files. Signed-off-by: Olaf Hering <olaf@aepfle.de> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Make pci_read_irq_line the defaultBenjamin Herrenschmidt2006-12-041-9/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch reworks the way IRQs are fixed up on PCI for arch powerpc. It makes pci_read_irq_line() called by default in the PCI code for devices that are probed, and add an optional per-device fixup in ppc_md for platforms that really need to correct what they obtain from pci_read_irq_line(). It also removes ppc_md.irq_bus_setup which was only used by pSeries and should not be needed anymore. I've also removed the pSeries s7a workaround as it can't work with the current interrupt code anyway. I'm trying to get one of these machines working so I can test a proper fix for that problem. I also haven't updated the old-style fixup code from 85xx_cds.c because it's actually buggy :) It assigns pci_dev->irq hard coded numbers which is no good with the new IRQ mapping code. It should at least use irq_create_mapping(NULL, hard_coded_number); and possibly also set_irq_type() to set them as level low. * [POWERPC] chrp: Constify & voidify get_property()Jeremy Kerr2006-07-311-6/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Now that get_property() returns a void *, there's no need to cast its return value. Also, treat the return value as const, so we can constify get_property later. chrp platform changes. Built for chrp32_defconfig Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@ozlabs.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Add briq support to CHRPBenjamin Herrenschmidt2006-07-071-4/+38
| | | | | | | | | | | The support for Briq machines has been floating around as patches for ages. This cleans it up and adds it once for all. Some of this is based on initial code provided by Karsten Jeppesen <karsten@jeppesens.com> and mostly rewritten from scratch by me. * [POWERPC] Add new interrupt mapping core and change platforms to use itBenjamin Herrenschmidt2006-07-031-9/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the new irq remapper core and removes the old one. Because there are some fundamental conflicts with the old code, like the value of NO_IRQ which I'm now setting to 0 (as per discussions with Linus), etc..., this commit also changes the relevant platform and driver code over to use the new remapper (so as not to cause difficulties later in bisecting). This patch removes the old pre-parsing of the open firmware interrupt tree along with all the bogus assumptions it made to try to renumber interrupts according to the platform. This is all to be handled by the new code now. For the pSeries XICS interrupt controller, a single remapper host is created for the whole machine regardless of how many interrupt presentation and source controllers are found, and it's set to match any device node that isn't a 8259. That works fine on pSeries and avoids having to deal with some of the complexities of split source controllers vs. presentation controllers in the pSeries device trees. The powerpc i8259 PIC driver now always requests the legacy interrupt range. It also has the feature of being able to match any device node (including NULL) if passed no device node as an input. That will help porting over platforms with broken device-trees like Pegasos who don't have a proper interrupt tree. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is needed if we wish to change the size of the resource structures. Based on an original patch from Vivek Goyal <vgoyal@in.ibm.com> and Andrew Morton. * powerpc: Fix CHRP booting - needs a define_machine callPaul Mackerras2006-04-051-2/+4
| | | | | | | | The patch removing _machine and converting platforms over to use define_machine wasn't complete as far as CHRP was concerned. This adds the define_machine call for CHRP and gets it booting again. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
