* Fix misspellings of "system", "controller", "interrupt" and "necessary".Robert P. J. Day2007-10-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Fix the various misspellings of "system", controller", "interrupt" and "[un]necessary". Signed-off-by: Robert P. J. Day <rpjday@mindspring.com> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org>
* [POWERPC] Use 1TB segmentsPaul Mackerras2007-10-121-16/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This makes the kernel use 1TB segments for all kernel mappings and for user addresses of 1TB and above, on machines which support them (currently POWER5+, POWER6 and PA6T). We detect that the machine supports 1TB segments by looking at the ibm,processor-segment-sizes property in the device tree. We don't currently use 1TB segments for user addresses < 1T, since that would effectively prevent 32-bit processes from using huge pages unless we also had a way to revert to using 256MB segments. That would be possible but would involve extra complications (such as keeping track of which segment size was used when HPTEs were inserted) and is not addressed here. Parts of this patch were originally written by Ben Herrenschmidt. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Platforms shouldn't mess with ROOT_DEVGrant Likely2007-10-111-5/+0
| | | | | | | | There is no good reason for board platform code to mess with the ROOT_DEV. Remove it from all in-tree platforms except powermac. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Celleb: update for PCIIshizaki Kou2007-10-038-47/+396
| | | | | | | | | | This adds support for the PCI bus on Celleb with new "I/O routines for PowerPC." External PCI on Celleb must do explicit synchronization with devices (Bus has no automatic synchronization feature). * [POWERPC] Celleb: New HTAB Guest OS Interface on BeatIshizaki Kou2007-10-034-1/+203
| | | | | | | | | | This changes the Celleb code to work with new Guest OS Interface to tweak HTAB on Beat. It detects old and new Guest OS Interfaces automatically. * [POWERPC] Celleb: Support for Power/Reset buttonsIshizaki Kou2007-10-031-1/+93
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This supports Power/Reset buttons on Beat on Celleb. On Beat, we have an event from Beat if Power button or Reset button is pressed. This patch catches the event and convert it to a signal to INIT process by calling ctrl_alt_del() function. /sbin/inittab have no entry to turn the machine power off so we have to detect if power button is pressed or not internally in our driver. This idea is taken from PS3's event handling subsystem. * [POWERPC] Celleb: Move pause, kexec_cpu_down to beat.cIshizaki Kou2007-10-033-13/+15
| | | | | | | | | This is an update for "Beat on Celleb" - Move beat_pause(), beat_kexec_cpu_down() from setup.c to beat.c Signed-off-by: <Kou.Ishizaki@toshiba.co.jp> Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd.bergmann@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
* [POWERPC] Fix section mismatch in PCI codeStephen Rothwell2007-09-191-14/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Create a helper function (alloc_maybe_bootmem) that is marked __init_refok to limit the chances of mistakenly referring to other __init routines. * [POWERPC] Invert null match behaviour for irq_hostsMichael Ellerman2007-09-141-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently if you don't specify a match callback for your irq_host it's assumed you match everything. This is a kind of opt-out approach, and turns out to be the exception rather than the rule. So change the semantics to be opt-in, ie. you don't match anything unless you provide a match callback. This in itself isn't very useful, but will allow us to provide a default match implementation in a subsequent patch. * [POWERPC] Add an optional device_node pointer to the irq_hostMichael Ellerman2007-09-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | The majority of irq_host implementations (3 out of 4) are associated with a device_node, and need to stash it somewhere. Rather than having it somewhere different for each host, add an optional device_node pointer to the irq_host structure. * [POWERPC] celleb: Fix parsing of machine type hack command line optionIshizaki Kou2007-05-101-1/+1

* [POWERPC] celleb: Fix PCI config space accesses to subordinate busesIshizaki Kou2007-05-101-4/+4

* [POWERPC] celleb: Fix support for multiple PCI domainsIshizaki Kou2007-05-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Celleb has multiple PCI host bridges (phbs). Previous boot logic gives non-overlapped bus IDs between PCI host bridges so you can identify PHB by bus ID. But newer boot logic gives same bus ID between PHBs (it gives bus ID 0 as root bus.) So we have to set 'phb->buid' as non-zero. * [POWERPC] Generic check_legacy_ioportOlaf Hering2007-04-271-10/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | check_legacy_ioport makes only sense on PREP, CHRP and pSeries. They may have an isa node with PS/2, parport, floppy and serial ports. Remove the check_legacy_ioport call from ppc_md, it's not needed anymore. Hardware capabilities come from the device-tree. * [POWERPC] Celleb: bug fix caused by not casting pointer typesIshizaki Kou2007-03-081-21/+61
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This fixes a bug caused by changes of pointer type in commit f1fda89522c5aaa1bd4ef69605e85e6ee9c85faf. hose->cfg_addr type is "volatile unsigned int __iomem *", so "hose->cfg_addr + X" will not make an intended address. This patch also adds comments for usage of cfg_addr and cfg_data in pci_controller structure. We use them in irregular way, and the original code is short of explanations about them.
