* arch,parisc: Convert smp_mb__*()Peter Zijlstra2014-04-181-5/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | parisc fully relies on asm-generic/barrier.h, therefore its smp_mb() is barrier and the default implementation suffices. * parisc: fix compile warnings triggered by atomic_sub(sizeof(),v)Helge Deller2013-03-021-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | This fixes compile warnings like this one: net/ipv4/igmp.c: In function ‘ip_mc_leave_group’: net/ipv4/igmp.c:1898:3: warning: overflow in implicit constant conversion [-Woverflow] atomic_sub() is defined as __atomic_add_return(-(VAL),(v)))) and if VAL is of type unsigned int (as returned by sizeof()), negating this value will overflow. Fix this by type-casting VAL to int type. Signed-off-by: Helge Deller <deller@gmx.de>
* [PARISC] Redefine ATOMIC_INIT and ATOMIC64_INIT to drop the castsMel Gorman2012-07-251-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The following build error occured during a parisc build with swap-over-NFS patches applied. net/core/sock.c:274:36: error: initializer element is not constant net/core/sock.c:274:36: error: (near initialization for 'memalloc_socks') net/core/sock.c:274:36: error: initializer element is not constant Dave Anglin says: > Here is the line in sock.i: > > struct static_key memalloc_socks = ((struct static_key) { .enabled = > ((atomic_t) { (0) }) }); The above line contains two compound literals. It also uses a designated initializer to initialize the field enabled. A compound literal is not a constant expression. The location of the above statement isn't fully clear, but if a compound literal occurs outside the body of a function, the initializer list must consist of constant expressions. * parisc: fix missing cmpxchg file error from system.h splitPaul Gortmaker2012-04-021-106/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit b4816afa3986 ("Move the asm-generic/system.h xchg() implementation to asm-generic/cmpxchg.h") introduced the concept of asm/cmpxchg.h but the parisc arch never got one. Fork the cmpxchg content out of the asm/atomic.h file to create one. Some minor whitespace fixups were done on the block of code that created the new file. Cc: "James E.J. * | atomic: cleanup asm-generic atomic*.h inclusionArun Sharma2011-07-261-5/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After changing all consumers of atomics to include <linux/atomic.h>, we ran into some compile time errors due to this dependency chain: linux/atomic.h -> asm/atomic.h -> asm-generic/atomic-long.h where atomic-long.h could use funcs defined later in linux/atomic.h without a prototype. This patches moves the code that includes asm-generic/atomic*.h to linux/atomic.h. Archs that need <asm-generic/atomic64.h> need to select CONFIG_GENERIC_ATOMIC64 from now on (some of them used to include it unconditionally). Compile tested on i386 and x86_64 with allnoconfig. * locking: Convert raw_spinlock to arch_spinlockThomas Gleixner2009-12-141-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The raw_spin* namespace was taken by lockdep for the architecture specific implementations. raw_spin_* would be the ideal name space for the spinlocks which are not converted to sleeping locks in preempt-rt. Linus suggested to convert the raw_ to arch_ locks and cleanup the name space instead of using an artifical name like core_spin, atomic_spin or whatever No functional change. * parisc: use generic atomic64 on 32-bitKyle McMartin2009-07-031-1/+5

* parisc: Remove casts from atomic macrosBastian Blank2009-07-031-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The atomic operations on parisc are defined as macros. The macros includes casts which disallows the use of some syntax elements and produces error like this: net/phonet/pep.c: In function 'pipe_rcv_status': net/phonet/pep.c:262: error: lvalue required as left operand of assignment The patch removes this superfluous casts. * asm-generic: rename atomic.h to atomic-long.hArnd Bergmann2009-06-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | The existing asm-generic/atomic.h only defines the atomic_long type.
