* ARM: big removal of now unused arch_idle()Nicolas Pitre2012-01-201-25/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | When this is the only content remaining in mach/system.h then the whole file is removed. * ARM: restart: remove the now empty arch_reset()Russell King2012-01-051-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the now empty arch_reset() from all the mach/system.h includes, and remove its callsite. Remove arm_machine_restart() as this function no longer does anything useful. For samsung platforms, remove the include of mach/system-reset.h and plat/system-reset.h from their respective mach/system.h headers as these just define their arch_reset functions. As a result, the s3c2410 and plat-samsung system-reset.h files are no longer referenced, so remove these files entirely. * ARM: restart: mxc: use new restart hookRussell King2012-01-051-1/+3
| | | | | | | | Hook these platforms restart code into the new restart hook rather than using arch_reset(). Acked-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* arm/imx: remove imx_idle hook and use pm_idle insteadShawn Guo2011-11-111-6/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The patch removes imx_idle hook and use pm_idle instead to get imx arch_idle prepared for the cleanup. It's suggested by Russel King as below. > The final removal of mach/system.h depends on getting rid of the arch_idle > thing. While going through these headers, I was dismayed to find these: > > arch/arm/mach-s3c2410/include/mach/system.h:void (*s3c24xx_idle)(void); > arch/arm/plat-mxc/include/mach/system.h:extern void (*imx_idle)(void); > > when we have a perfectly good pm_idle hook already in place - so there's > no excuse for these especially when other platforms are already using > pm_idle to hook their platform specific idle function into. This is > something that better be gone at the next merge window! * arm/imx: remove cpu_is_xxx() from arch_idle()Shawn Guo2011-10-041-32/+3
| | | | | | | | | This patch adds an idle hook imx_idle to be called in arch_idle(). Any soc that needs a customized idle implementation other than cpu_do_idle() can set up this hook in soc specific call. * ARM: remove support for mxc91231Uwe Kleine-König2011-05-191-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Since support for mxc91231 was introduced 2009 it only saw patches that were part of (mxc or arm) global cleanups. The only supported machine only had 4 devices (2x UART, sdhc, watchdog). * ARM: mx51: Implement code to allow mx51 to enter WFIDinh Nguyen2011-03-231-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | Implement code for MX51 that allows the SoC to enter WFI when arch_idle is called. This patch is also necessary for correctly suspending the system. Signed-off-by: Dinh Nguyen <Dinh.Nguyen@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>

* mxc: add arch_reset() functionIlya Yanok2009-03-271-4/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds arch_reset() function for all mxc platforms. It also removes (unsused) arch/arm/mach-mx2/system.c file. This patch has been tested on i.MX1/27/31/35 Signed-off-by: Ilya Yanok <yanok@emcraft.com> Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
* [ARM] pass reboot command line to arch_reset()Russell King2009-03-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | OMAP wishes to pass state to the boot loader upon reboot in order to instruct it whether to wait for USB-based reflashing or not. There is already a facility to do this via the reboot() syscall, except we ignore the string passed to machine_restart(). This patch fixes things to pass this string to arch_reset(). This means that we keep the reboot mode limited to telling the kernel _how_ to perform the reboot which should be independent of what we request the boot loader to do.
