These patches remove the use of omap_prcm_get_reset_sources() from the OMAP watchdog driver, and remove mach-omap2/prcm.c and plat-omap/include/plat/prcm.h. Basic test logs for this branch on top of Tony's cleanup-prcm branch at commit 7fc54fd3084457c7f11b9e2e1e3fcd19a3badc33 are here: http://www.pwsan.com/omap/testlogs/prcm_cleanup_b_3.8/20121108151646/ However, cleanup-prcm at 7fc54fd3 does not include some fixes that are needed for a successful test. With several reverts, fixes, and workarounds applied, the following test logs were obtained: http://www.pwsan.com/omap/testlogs/TEST_prcm_cleanup_b_3.8/20121108151930/ which indicate that the series tests cleanly. This second pull request updates one of the patches which broke with rmk's allnoconfigs, and also updates the tag description to indicate that 7fc54fd3 is building cleanly here. * tag 'omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-prcm-part2-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: (27 commits) ARM: OMAP2: Fix compillation error in cm_common ARM: OMAP2+: PRCM: remove obsolete prcm.[ch] ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod: call to _omap4_disable_module() should use the SoC-specific call ARM: OMAP2+: PRCM: consolidate PRCM-related timeout macros ARM: OMAP2+: PRCM: split and relocate the PRM/CM globals setup ARM: OMAP2+: PRCM: remove omap2_cm_wait_idlest() ARM: OMAP2+: CM/clock: convert _omap2_module_wait_ready() to use SoC-independent CM functions ARM: OMAP2xxx: APLL/CM: convert to use omap2_cm_wait_module_ready() ARM: OMAP2+: board files: use SoC-specific system restart functions ARM: OMAP2+: PRCM: create SoC-specific chip restart functions ARM: OMAP2xxx: clock: move virt_prcm_set code into clkt2xxx_virt_prcm_set.c ARM: OMAP2xxx: clock: remove global 'dclk' variable ARM: OMAP2/3: PRM: add SoC reset functions (using the CORE DPLL method) ARM: OMAP2+: common: remove mach-omap2/common.c globals and map_common_io code ARM: OMAP2+: PRCM: remove omap_prcm_get_reset_sources() watchdog: OMAP: use standard GETBOOTSTATUS interface; use platform_data fn ptr ARM: OMAP2+: WDT: move init; add read_reset_sources pdata function pointer ARM: OMAP1: CGRM: fix omap1_get_reset_sources() return type ARM: OMAP2+: PRM: create PRM reset source API for the watchdog timer driver ARM: OMAP1: create read_reset_sources() function (for initial use by watchdog) ... | * ARM: OMAP2+: WDT: move init; add read_reset_sources pdata function pointerPaul Walmsley2012-10-291-3/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The OMAP watchdog timer driver directly calls a function exported by code in arch/arm/mach-omap2. This is not good; it tightly couples this driver to the mach-omap2 integration code. Instead, add a temporary platform_data function pointer to abstract this function call. A subsequent patch will convert the watchdog driver to use this function pointer. This patch also moves the device creation code out of arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c and into arch/arm/mach-omap2/wd_timer.c. This is another step towards the removal of arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c. * | ARM: OMAP: Split sram.h to local headers and minimal shared headerTony Lindgren2012-10-311-2/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Most of the defines are specific to omap1 and omap2+, and should be in the local headers. Only minimal function prototypes need to be shared. As discussed on linux-arm-kernel, we want to avoid relative includes for the arch/arm/*omap* shared code: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg80520.html So this patch re-adds a minimal plat/sram.h. The new plat/sram.h must not be included from drivers, that will break build for omap2+ CONFIG_MULTIPLATFORM. Note that this patch temporarily adds two more relative includes; Those will be removed in the following patch. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

* | hwrng: OMAP: remove SoC restrictions from driver registrationPaul Walmsley2012-09-231-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the SoC restriction code from the OMAP RNG driver. The integration code in arch/arm/*omap* should handle this. The device shouldn't be created if it doesn't exist on the currently-booted SoC. This allows us to remove some OMAP-specific cpu_is_omap*() calls from the driver. Also, if other OMAP chips have RNGs that can be used by Linux, there will be no need to modify the driver. * | ARM: OMAP: split OMAP1, OMAP2+ RNG device registrationPaul Walmsley2012-09-231-0/+25
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the OMAP1-specific RNG device creation off to mach-omap1/devices.c, and create a omap_device-backed registration function for OMAP2+ devices in mach-omap2/devices.c. As a nice side-benefit, we can also get rid of arch/arm/plat-omap/devices.c, thanks to some recent changes from Tony. One change from the previous behavior is that the RNG devices are now registered unconditionally. This should allow the RNG drivers to be loaded as modules, even if the original kernel was not built that way. Signed-off-by: Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com>

Also it uses omap_device_build() API instead of platform_device_register() for watchdog timer device registration for OMAP2plus chips. For OMAP2plus chips, the device specific data defined in centralized hwmod database will be used. * | ASoC: multi-component - ASoC Multi-Component SupportLiam Girdwood2010-08-121-0/+26
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch extends the ASoC API to allow sound cards to have more than one CODEC and more than one platform DMA controller. This is achieved by dividing some current ASoC structures that contain both driver data and device data into structures that only either contain device data or driver data. i.e. struct snd_soc_codec ---> struct snd_soc_codec (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_codec_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_platform ---> struct snd_soc_platform (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_platform_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_dai ---> struct snd_soc_dai (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_dai_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_device ---> deleted This now allows ASoC to be more tightly aligned with the Linux driver model and also means that every ASoC codec, platform and (platform) DAI is a kernel device. ASoC component private data is now stored as device private data. The ASoC sound card struct snd_soc_card has also been updated to store lists of it's components rather than a pointer to a codec and platform. The PCM runtime struct soc_pcm_runtime now has pointers to all its components. This patch adds DAPM support for ASoC multi-component and removes struct snd_soc_socdev from DAPM core. All DAPM calls are now made on a card, codec or runtime PCM level basis rather than using snd_soc_socdev. Other notable multi-component changes:- * Stream operations now de-reference less structures. * close_delayed work() now runs on a DAI basis rather than looping all DAIs in a card. * PM suspend()/resume() operations can now handle N CODECs and Platforms per sound card. * Added soc_bind_dai_link() to bind the component devices to the sound card. * Added soc_dai_link_probe() and soc_dai_link_remove() to probe and remove DAI link components. * sysfs entries can now be registered per component per card. * snd_soc_new_pcms() functionailty rolled into dai_link_probe(). * snd_soc_register_codec() now does all the codec list and mutex init. This patch changes the probe() and remove() of the CODEC drivers as follows:- o Make CODEC driver a platform driver o Moved all struct snd_soc_codec list, mutex, etc initialiasation to core. o Removed all static codec pointers (drivers now support > 1 codec dev) o snd_soc_register_pcms() now done by core. o snd_soc_register_dai() folded into snd_soc_register_codec(). * omap1: mmc: Add platform init for omap7xxCory Maccarrone2009-11-221-4/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The MMC mux pins normally used by omap chips in devices.c are different from what is needed by omap7xx chips. This change adds a conditional around the mux setup code to enable the correct mux pins. The omap730 and omap850 both use a different clock for the "fck" clock of the MMC interface than other omap processors based on the SOFT_REQ_REG, pin 12. The "ick" clock is the same as that used by other omap processors. * Added the missing clock definition as mmc3_ck to clock.h * Added the clock definition to omap_clks in clock.c * Added CK_7XX to the mmci-omap.0 "ick" clock already in clock.c With these changes, it is now possible to initialize and use MMC cards with omap730 and omap850 devices.
