| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The fixups are executed once the pci-device is found which is during boot process so __init seems fine as long as the platform does not support hotplug. However it is possible to remove the PCI bus at run time and have it rediscovered again via "echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan" and this will call the fixups again. * | PCI: replace struct pci_bus secondary/subordinate with busn_resYinghai Lu2012-06-131-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | Replace the struct pci_bus secondary/subordinate members with the struct resource busn_res. Later we'll build a resource tree of these bus numbers. [bhelgaas: changelog] Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yinghai@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>
* ARM: PCI: remove per-pci_hw list of busesRussell King2012-05-161-6/+5
| | | | | | | No one uses the per-hw list of buses, so get rid of this. Instead, build the list locally. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* ARM: PCI: provide a default bus scan implementationRussell King2012-05-131-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | Most PCI implementations perform simple root bus scanning. Rather than having each group of platforms provide a duplicated bus scan function, provide the PCI configuration ops structure via the hw_pci structure, and call the root bus scanning function from core ARM PCI code. Acked-by: Krzysztof Hałasa <khc@pm.waw.pl> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* ARM: PCI: get rid of pci_std_swizzle()Russell King2012-05-131-3/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Most PCI implementations use the standard PCI swizzle function, which handles the well defined behaviour of PCI-to-PCI bridges which can be found on cards (eg, four port ethernet cards.) Rather than having almost every platform specify the standard swizzle function, make this the default when no swizzle function is supplied. Therefore, a swizzle function only needs to be provided when there is something exceptional which needs to be handled. This gets rid of the swizzle initializer from 47 files, and leaves us with just two platforms specifying a swizzle function: ARM Integrator and Chalice CATS. Acked-by: Krzysztof Hałasa <khc@pm.waw.pl> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
* ARM: PCI: remove unused sys->hwRussell King2012-04-261-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | Some platforms mark their hw_pci structure as __initdata, which means it will be discarded after init time. Storing pointers to __initdata in long lived data structures is a potential source of problems, and in this case, sys->hw is unused apart from its initialization. So, lets remove this member and its initializer. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

* arm/PCI: remove arch pci_flags definitionBjorn Helgaas2012-02-231-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The PCI core provides a pci_flags definition (currently __weak), so drop the arm definition in favor of that. We EXPORT_SYMBOL(pci_flags) as arm did previously. I'm dubious about this: no other architecture exports it, and I didn't see any modules in the tree that reference it. * PCI: ARM: convert pcibios_set_master() to a non-inlined functionMyron Stowe2012-01-061-0/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts ARM's architecture-specific inlined 'pcibios_set_master()' routine to a non-inlined function. This will allow follow on patches to create a generic 'pcibios_set_master()' function using the '__weak' attribute which can be used by all architectures as a default which, if necessary, can then be over- ridden by architecture-specific code. Converting 'pci_bios_set_master()' to a non-inlined function will allow ARM's 'pcibios_set_master()' implementation to remain architecture- specific after the generic version is introduced and thus, not change current behavior. Note that ARM also has a non-inlined 'pcibios_set_master()' that is used if CONFIG_PCI_HOST_ITE8152 is defined. This patch does not change any behavior here either. No functional change. * arm: convert core files from module.h to export.hPaul Gortmaker2011-10-311-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Many of the core ARM kernel files are not modules, but just including module.h for exporting symbols. Now these files can use the lighter footprint export.h for this role. There are probably lots more, but ARM files of mach-* and plat-* don't get coverage via a simple yesconfig build. They will have to be cleaned up and tested via using their respective configs. * ARM: pci: always export pcibios_bus_to_resourceArnd Bergmann2011-10-011-5/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some PCI drivers call pcibios_bus_to_resource directly, but it is only exported when CONFIG_HOTPLUG is set, because it was initially mean for pccard support. Moving the export out of the #ifdef lets us avoid these build errors: ERROR: "pcibios_bus_to_resource" [drivers/video/vt8623fb.ko] undefined! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Aside of the usual motivation for constification, this function has a history of being abused a hook for interrupt and other fixups so I turned this function const ages ago in the MIPS code but it should be done treewide. * [PATCH] mm: remove VM_LOCKED before remap_pfn_range and drop VM_SHMChristoph Lameter2006-06-251-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Remove VM_LOCKED before remap_pfn range from device drivers and get rid of VM_SHM. remap_pfn_range() already sets VM_IO. There is no need to set VM_SHM since it does nothing. VM_LOCKED is of no use since the remap_pfn_range does not place pages on the LRU. The pages are therefore never subject to swap anyways. Remove all the vm_flags settings before calling remap_pfn_range. After removing all the vm_flag settings no use of VM_SHM is left. Drop it. * [PATCH] pci and yenta: pcibios_bus_to_resourceDominik Brodowski2005-08-041-0/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In yenta_socket, we default to using the resource setting of the CardBus bridge. However, this is a PCI-bus-centric view of resources and thus needs to be converted to generic resources first. Therefore, add a call to pcibios_bus_to_resource() call in between. This function is a mere wrapper on x86 and friends, however on some others it already exists, is added in this patch (alpha, arm, ppc, ppc64) or still needs to be provided (parisc -- where is its pcibios_resource_to_bus() ?). * Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds2005-04-161-0/+699
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
