The glue around the core designware IP is significantly different between
the Exynos and i.MX implementation, which is reflected in the DT bindings.
This changes the i.MX6 binding to reuse as much as possible from the common
designware binding and removes old cruft.
I removed the optional GPIOs with the following reasoning:
- disable-gpio: endpoint specific GPIO, not currently wired up in any code.
Should be handled by the PCI device driver, not the host controller
driver.
- wake-up-gpio: same as above.
- power-on-gpio: No user in any upstream DT. This should be handled by a
regulator which shouldn't be controlled by the host driver, but rather by
the PCI device driver.

Pull more ACPI and power management updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"These are fixups on top of the previous PM+ACPI pull request,
regression fixes (ACPI hotplug, cpufreq ppc-corenet), other bug fixes
(ACPI reset, cpufreq), new PM trace points for system suspend
profiling and a copyright notice update.
Specifics:
- I didn't remember correctly that the Hans de Goede's ACPI video
patches actually didn't flip the video.use_native_backlight
default, although we had discussed that and decided to do that.
Since I said we would do that in the previous PM+ACPI pull request,
make that change for real now.
- ACPI bus check notifications for PCI host bridges don't cause the
bus below the host bridge to be checked for changes as they should
because of a mistake in the ACPI-based PCI hotplug (ACPIPHP)
subsystem that forgets to add hotplug contexts to PCI host bridge
ACPI device objects. Create hotplug contexts for PCI host bridges
too as appropriate.
- Revert recent cpufreq commit related to the big.LITTLE cpufreq
driver that breaks arm64 builds.
- Fix for a regression in the ppc-corenet cpufreq driver introduced
during the 3.15 cycle and causing the driver to use the remainder

- Resets triggered by panic activate a BUG_ON() in vmalloc.c on

- Fix for a problem with cpufreq governors that decisions made by

Douglas Anderson, recently pointed out an interesting problem due to which
udelay() was expiring earlier than it should.
While transitioning between frequencies few platforms may temporarily switch to
a stable frequency, waiting for the main PLL to stabilize.
For example: When we transition between very low frequencies on exynos, like
between 200MHz and 300MHz, we may temporarily switch to a PLL running at 800MHz.
No CPUFREQ notification is sent for that. That means there's a period of time
when we're running at 800MHz but loops_per_jiffy is calibrated at between 200MHz
and 300MHz. And so udelay behaves badly.
To get this fixed in a generic way, introduce another set of callbacks
get_intermediate() and target_intermediate(), only for drivers with
target_index() and CPUFREQ_ASYNC_NOTIFICATION unset.
get_intermediate() should return a stable intermediate frequency platform wants
to switch to, and target_intermediate() should set CPU to that frequency,
before jumping to the frequency corresponding to 'index'. Core will take care of
sending notifications and driver doesn't have to handle them in
target_intermediate() or target_index().
NOTE: ->target_index() should restore to policy->restore_freq in case of
failures as core would send notifications for that.

The TI55231 appears to be fully compatible to the 5523 model from

The non-DT driver allowed an active low property to be specified, but DT
is missing this in its description. Add the property to the DT binding
document, making it optional. It defaults to active high, which retains
compatibility with existing descriptions.
This should only be used for causes where the LED is wired to supply,
and the PWM does not sensibly support its own inversion.

Some oscillators can be turned off during off-idle saving few
a little bit power at the cost of the oscillator start up
latency.
If you board can do this, you can now enable it by using the
ti,twl4030-power-idle-osc-off compatible flag.

These settings are based on the "Recommended Sleep Sequences for
the Zoom Platform".
The settings assume most of the regulators are under control of
Linux, and twl4030 only cuts off VDD1 and VDD2 during off-idle as
Linux cannot do it.
For any board specific changes to these, let's patch them in as
changes to the generic data in the follow-up patches. This keeps
the board specific changes small.
Note that this does not consider the twl5030 errata 27 and 28.
That can be added later on after it has been tested. For more
information about errata 27 and 28.

The twl4030 PMIC needs to be configured properly for things like
warm reset and deeper idle states so the PMIC manages the regulators
properly based on the hardware triggers from the SoC. Earlier
we have configured twl4030 using platform data, but we want to
do it for device tree based booting also.
In some cases configuring twl4030 is needed for things to work.
For example, when rebooting an OMAP3530 at 125 MHz, it hangs.
With this patch, TWL4030 will be reset when a warm reset occures,
and OMAP3530 does not hang on reboot.
Let's add device tree support and configure things for warm reset
as the default when compatible = "ti,twl4030-power". More
complicated configurations can be added to the driver based on
other compatible flags.
Note we now also make the pdata const like it should be.
This allows use it for match->data with the device tree
related functions.

drm/panel: Changes for v3.16-rc1
This set of commits contains a couple of fixes to existing panel drivers
and support for some new panels.
One commit touches the DRM core in that in modifies the MIPI DSI support
to hook up the shutdown function so that drivers can provide code that's
run on shutdown. This is used by a subsequent commit to make the simple
panel driver power off the backlight on shutdown.

drm/tegra: Changes for v3.16-rc1
The majority of these changes are a slew of cleanups across the board.
A more noteworthy change is the addition of drm_dev_set_unique() and the
conversion of the Tegra DRM driver to use it. This allows us to get rid
of the host1x drm_bus implementation. Other USB and platform drivers can
be changed in a similar way. Unfortunately for most PCI devices there is
some userspace that relies on the old functionality and cannot be as
easily converted.
HDMI and hardware cursor support is added for Tegra124. The SOR output
gains support for exposing CRCs via debugfs, which can be used for
automated testing. Many values that were hardcoded in the SOR/eDP code
are now computed at runtime to increase compatibility with more devices.

With the recent addition of the drm_set_unique() function, devices can
now be registered without requiring a drm_bus. Add a brief description
to the DRM docbook to show how that can be achieved.

Describe how devices are registered using the drm_*_init() functions.
Adding this to docbook requires a largish set of changes to the comments
in drm_{pci,usb,platform}.c since they are doxygen-style rather than
proper kernel-doc and therefore mess with the docbook generation.
While at it, mark usage of drm_put_dev() as discouraged in favour of
calling drm_dev_unregister() and drm_dev_unref() directly.

The DSI controllers are powered by a (typically 1.2V) regulator. Usually
this is always on, so there was no need to support enabling or disabling
it thus far. But in order not to consume any power when DSI is inactive,
give the driver a chance to enable or disable the supply as needed.

Revert commit 18ebc0f404d5 "drm/tegra: hdmi: Enable VDD earlier for
hotplug/DDC" and instead add a new supply for the +5V pin on the HDMI
connector.
The vdd-supply property refers to the regulator that supplies the
AVDD_HDMI input on Tegra, rather than the +5V HDMI connector pin. This
was never a problem before, because all boards had that pin hooked up to
a regulator that was always on. Starting with Dalmore and continuing
with Venice2, the +5V pin is controllable via a GPIO. For reasons
unknown, the GPIO ended up as the controlling GPIO of the AVDD_HDMI
supply in the Dalmore and Venice2 DTS files. But that's not correct.
Instead, a separate supply must be introduced so that the +5V pin can be
controlled separately from the supplies that feed the HDMI block within
Tegra.
A new hdmi-supply property is introduced that takes the place of the
vdd-supply and vdd-supply is only enabled when HDMI is enabled rather
than all the time.

For atomic, it will be quite necessary to not need to care so much
about locking order. And 'state' gives us a convenient place to stash a
ww_ctx for any sort of update that needs to grab multiple crtc locks.
Because we will want to eventually make locking even more fine grained
(giving locks to planes, connectors, etc), split out drm_modeset_lock
and drm_modeset_acquire_ctx to track acquired locks.
Atomic will use this to keep track of which locks have been acquired
in a transaction.

Exynos drm hdmi driver used to get dummy hdmiphy clock to
control the PMU bit for hdmiphy. This bit needs to be set
before setting any resolution to hdmi hardware. This was
handled using dummy hdmiphy clock which is removed here.
PMU is already defined as system controller for exynos
SoCs. Hdmi driver is modified to control the phy enable bit
inside PMU using regmap interfaces.
Devicetree binding document for hdmi is also updated.

Certain bridge chips use a GPIO to indicate the cable status instead
of the I_DP_HPD pin. This adds an optional device-tree property,
"samsung,hpd-gpio", to the exynos-dp controller which indicates that
the specified GPIO should be used for hotplug detection.
The GPIO is then set up as an edge-triggered interrupt where the
rising edge indicates hotplug-in and the falling edge indicates hotplug-out.

Started documenting drm properties for drm drivers. This patch provides
information about properties in drm, i915, psb and cdv/gma-500. Information
about other properties can be added on top of these.

The 800x600 (SVGA) screen resolution was lacking in the set of
built-in selectable EDID screen resolutions that can be used to
repair misbehaving monitor firmware.
This patch adds the related data set and expands the documentation.
Note that the SVGA bit occupies a different byte to all the existing
users of the established timing bits forcing a rework of the
ESTABLISHED_TIMINGS_BITS macro.
Tested new EDID on an aged (and misbehaving) industrial LCD panel;
existing EDIDs still pass edid-decode's checksum checks.

Update pull request with drm core patches. Mostly some polish for the
primary plane stuff and a pile of patches all over from Thierry. Has
survived a few days in drm-intel-nightly without causing ill.

Many drm connectors do not need mode validation.
The patch makes this callback optional and removes dumb implementations.

Next pull request, this time more of the drm de-midlayering work. The big
thing is that his patch series here removes everything from drm_bus except
the set_busid callback. Thierry has a few more patches on top of this to
make that one optional to.
With that we can ditch all the non-pci drm_bus implementations, which
Thierry has already done for the fake tegra host1x drm_bus.
Reviewed by Thierry, Laurent and David and now also survived some testing
on my intel boxes to make sure the irq fumble is fixed correctly ;-) The
last minute rebase was just to add the r-b tags from Thierry for the 2
patches I've redone.

Unfortunately this requires a drm-wide change, and I didn't see a sane
way around that. Luckily it's fairly simple, we just need to inline
the respective get_irq implementation from either drm_pci.c or
drm_platform.c.
With that we can now also remove drm_dev_to_irq from drm_irq.c.

Beginning to introduce those. Just the callers for now, and it's
clumsier than it'll eventually become; once we finish converting
aio_read and aio_write instances, the things will get nicer.
For now, these guys are in parallel to ->aio_read() and ->aio_write();
they take iocb and iov_iter, with everything in iov_iter already
validated. File offset is passed in iocb->ki_pos, iov/nr_segs -
in iov_iter.
Main concerns in that series are stack footprint and ability to
split the damn thing cleanly.
