It got a little delayed because I needed to wait for a dependency to be included (commit b424080a9e08: "reset: Add optional resets and stubs"). Plus, I had some email problems. All done now, the highlights are: - drivers can now deprecate their use of i2c classes. That shouldn't be used on embedded platforms anyhow and was often blindly copy&pasted. This mechanism gives users time to switch away and ultimately boot faster once the use of classes for those drivers is gone for good. - new drivers for QUP, Cadence, efm32 - tracepoint support for I2C and SMBus - bigger cleanups for the mv64xxx, nomadik, and designware drivers And the usual bugfixes, cleanups, feature additions. Most stuff has been in linux-next for a while. Just some hot fixes and new drivers were added a bit more recently." * 'i2c/for-next' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wsa/linux: (63 commits) i2c: cadence: fix Kconfig dependency i2c: Add driver for Cadence I2C controller i2c: cadence: Document device tree bindings Documentation: i2c: improve section about flags mangling the protocol i2c: qup: use proper type fro clk_freq i2c: qup: off by ones in qup_i2c_probe() i2c: efm32: fix binding doc MAINTAINERS: update I2C web resources i2c: qup: New bus driver for the Qualcomm QUP I2C controller i2c: qup: Add device tree bindings information i2c: i2c-xiic: deprecate class based instantiation i2c: i2c-sirf: deprecate class based instantiation i2c: i2c-mv64xxx: deprecate class based instantiation i2c: i2c-designware-platdrv: deprecate class based instantiation i2c: i2c-davinci: deprecate class based instantiation i2c: i2c-bcm2835: deprecate class based instantiation i2c: mv64xxx: Fix reset controller handling i2c: omap: fix usage of IS_ERR_VALUE with pm_runtime_get_sync i2c: efm32: new bus driver i2c: exynos5: remove unnecessary cast of void pointer ...

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fix dt compatible string in the binding document which was changed during review in the driver, but it seem I messed up to adapt the documentation accordingly. Also change status from "disabled" to "ok" which makes more sense for an example. Signed-off-by: Uwe Kleine-König <u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the ability to set "clock-frequency" in the device tree for the at91 i2cbus following the naming of other i2c bus implementations. If the property is not set,the clock frequency will default to the previously used define of 100KHz. | * i2c: designware: make SCL and SDA falling time configurableRomain Baeriswyl2014-03-091-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch allows to set independantly SCL and SDA falling times. The tLOW period is computed by taking into account the SCL falling time. The tHIGH period is computed by taking into account the SDA falling time. For instance in case the margin on tLOW is considered too small, it can be increased by increasing the SCL falling time which is by default set at 300ns. The same applies for tHIGH period with the help of SDA falling time. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Allwinner A31 I2C controller is almost identical to the one used in the other Allwinner SoCs, except for the fact that it needs to clear the interrupt by setting the INT_FLAGS bit in the control register, instead of clearing it. | * | mmc: sdhci-pxav3: add support for the Armada 38x SDHCI controllerMarcin Wojtas2014-03-291-1/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The SDHCI unit used on the Armada 380 and 385 Marvell SoC is similar to the PXAv3 unit. The only difference is that on Armada 38x, the PXAv3 unit accesses memory through MBus windows which must be configured prior to using the device. Without this, DMA would not work. In order to achieve this, the sdhci-pxav3 driver is extended with an additional compatible string "marvell,armada-380-sdhci". When this compatible string is used, the MBus windows are initialized in a way that is identical to what all other DMA-capable drivers for Marvell EBU platforms do. | * | mmc: omap_hsmmc: Add support for quirky omap3 hsmmc controllerNishanth Menon2014-03-041-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When device is booted using devicetree, platforms impacted by Erratum 2.1.1.128 is not detected easily in the mmc driver. This erratum indicates that the module cannot do multi-block transfers. Platforms such as LDP which use OMAP3 ES revision prior to ES3.0 are impacted by this. Provide a new compatible property "ti,omap3-pre-es3-hsmmc" to allow driver to determine if driver needs to implement quirks associated with the specific module version (primarily because the IP revision information is not sufficient for the same). Several of these are issues of correctness - passing more correct HDMI info packets, not reading registers in older chips documented as write only (despite appearing to be read/write in later chips). Others are code cleanups (using definitions rather than constants where we have them already in the kernel). Additional functionality is also added by way of optional support for the IRQ from the TDA998x, which allows us to avoid busy-waiting for the EDID reads. * 'tda998x-devel' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-cubox: drm/i2c: tda998x: always use the same device for all kernel messages drm/i2c: tda998x: adjust the audio clock divider for S/PDIF drm/i2c: tda998x: code optimization drm/i2c: tda998x: remove the unused variable ca_i2s drm/i2c: tda998x: make the audio code more readable drm/i2c: tda998x: use irq for connection status and EDID read drm/i2c: tda998x: always enable EDID read IRQ drm/i2c: tda998x: add DT documentation drm/i2c: tda998x: add DT support drm/i2c: tda998x: don't read write-only registers drm/i2c: tda998x: don't freeze the system at audio startup time drm/i2c: tda998x: change probe message origin drm/i2c: tda998x: code cleanup drm/i2c: tda998x: clean up error chip version checking drm/i2c: tda998x: check more I/O errors drm/i2c: tda998x: simplify the i2c read/write functions drm/i2c: tda998x: use ALSA IEC958 definitions and update audio frequency drm/i2c: tda998x: add the active aspect in HDMI AVI frame drm/i2c: tda998x: use HDMI constants
