| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Same code, except: The alignment of init_thread_union is handled via the linker script, so no point to have it with the data structure. * smp, idle: Allocate idle thread for each possible cpu during bootSuresh Siddha2012-05-034-56/+31
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | percpu areas are already allocated during boot for each possible cpu. percpu idle threads can be considered as an extension of the percpu areas, and allocate them for each possible cpu during boot. This will eliminate the need for workqueue based idle thread allocation. In future we can move the idle thread area into the percpu area too. * smp: Provide generic idle thread allocationThomas Gleixner2012-04-265-2/+99
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | All SMP architectures have magic to fork the idle task and to store it for reusage when cpu hotplug is enabled. Provide a generic infrastructure for it. Create/reinit the idle thread for the cpu which is brought up in the generic code and hand the thread pointer to the architecture code via __cpu_up(). Note, that fork_idle() is called via a workqueue, because this guarantees that the idle thread does not get a reference to a user space VM. This can happen when the boot process did not bring up all possible cpus and a later cpu_up() is initiated via the sysfs interface. In that case fork_idle() would be called in the context of the user space task and take a reference on the user space VM. | * NFSv4: Keep dropped state owners on the LRU list for a whileTrond Myklebust2012-04-211-9/+11

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Retest the RB_EMPTY_NODE() condition under the spin lock to ensure that we don't call rb_erase() more than once on the same state owner. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
| * NFSv4: Ensure we do not reuse open owner namesTrond Myklebust2012-04-205-8/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The NFSv4 spec is ambiguous about whether or not it is permissible to reuse open owner names, so play it safe. This patch adds a timestamp to the state_owner structure, and combines that with the IDA based uniquifier. Fixes a regression whereby the Linux server returns NFS4ERR_BAD_SEQID. | * nfs: Enclose hostname in brackets when needed in nfs_do_root_mountJan Kara2012-04-201-2/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When hostname contains colon (e.g. when it is an IPv6 address) it needs to be enclosed in brackets to make parsing of NFS device string possible. Fix nfs_do_root_mount() to enclose hostname properly when needed. NFS code actually does not need this as it does not parse the string passed by nfs_do_root_mount() but the device string is exposed to userspace in /proc/mounts.
