* ARM: u300: convert MMC/SD clock to device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-173-7/+47
| | | | | | | | This converts the last of the U300 clocks to being probed from the device tree. Acked-by: Mike Turquette <mturquette@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: move the gated system controller clocks to DTLinus Walleij2013-06-174-110/+418
| | | | | | | | | This moves the slow, fast, AHB bridge and "rest" clocks on the U300 system controller over to registration from the device tree. Acked-by: Mike Turquette <mturquette@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* i2c: stu300: do not request a specific clock nameLinus Walleij2013-06-171-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | We have used the default clock associated with the block for a long time, only heuristics in the clock system has made this work anyway. This needs to be done away with as we start probing this driver and its clocks exclusively from the device tree. Acked-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* clk: move the U300 fixed and fixed-factor to DTLinus Walleij2013-06-172-20/+57
| | | | | | | | This converts the fixed and fixed-factor clocks in the U300 platform to register themselves from the device tree. Acked-by: Mike Turquette <mturquette@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: remove register definition fileLinus Walleij2013-06-172-166/+112
| | | | | | | | | Now that the core file is the only one actually using any of the base addresses, we can delete that header and move the base address definitions into the one and only core file. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: add syscon nodeLinus Walleij2013-06-174-10/+69
| | | | | | | | | | | This adds a device tree node for the U300 system controller and remaps this dynamically instead of using hard-coded virtual addresses. The board power set-up code is altered to fetch a reference to the syscon using ampersand <&syscon> notation. This way of passing a pointer to the syscon will also be used by the clocks. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300 use module_spi_driver to register driverPeter Huewe2013-06-171-13/+1
| | | | | | | | Removing some boilerplate by using module_spi_driver instead of calling register and unregister in the otherwise empty init/exit functions. Signed-off-by: Peter Huewe <peterhuewe@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: delete remnant machine headersLinus Walleij2013-06-172-62/+0
| | | | | | | | | Two files remain in <mach/*> for U300: timex.h and uncompress.h. The former is done away with by using defaults, the latter is unused in multiplatform. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: convert to multiplatformLinus Walleij2013-06-173-33/+30
| | | | | | | | | | Now that we removed our dependency on <mach/*> the U300 can be converted to mutliplatform. Remove the invalid restriction that U300 would not support AUTO_ZRELADDR (it does) and update the defconfig in the process. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: localize <mach/u300-regs.h>Linus Walleij2013-06-173-2/+2
| | | | | | | | This register base file is now only used in the machine itself so move it down into mach-u300. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: delete <mach/irqs.h>Linus Walleij2013-06-172-82/+0
| | | | | | | | All IRQs are now obtained from the device tree, and this file is unused, so delete it. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: delete <mach/hardware.h>Linus Walleij2013-06-172-6/+0
| | | | | | | This file is now unused and can be deleted. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: push down syscon registersLinus Walleij2013-06-174-597/+373
| | | | | | | | | Get rid of the <mach/syscon.h> header as a prerequisite for multiplatform support. Do this by pushing the registers down to their respective drivers and deleting the unused remainder. Acked-by: Mike Turquette <mturquette@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: remove deps from debug macroLinus Walleij2013-06-171-6/+3
| | | | | | | | | | This rids the dependency to <mach/hardware.h> (which is an implicit dependency to <mach/u300-regs.h>) from the U300 debug macro. Take this opportunity to update the file header. Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: move debugmacro to debug includesLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+8
| | | | | | | This moves the U300 debug macro to the debug headers to make way for multiplatform support. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: delete all static board dataLinus Walleij2013-06-1711-1087/+22
| | | | | | | | | | | | We have now transferred all the U300 peripherals to the device tree, so we just select USE_OF, and delete all static board data, then require that this platform shall be booted using the device tree and nothing else. This gets rid of the MMCI (PL180), PL022, and serial PL011 platform data entries and more. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: add FSMC flash into the device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+28
| | | | | | | | This registers the U300 FSMC flash controller from the device tree, and defines the three partitions. Skip the BBT scan as in the current platform data. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: probe the U300 dummy-spichip from device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+11
| | | | | | | This probes the U300 dummy-spichip from the device tree and adds the apropriate node to the tree. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: add SPI PL022 to the device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+31
| | | | | | | | | This registers the PL022 PrimeCell from the U300 device tree. We make a new copy of the platform data for the device tree boot path, as the old platform data is in an older file which will be going away. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: add the COH 901 318 DMAC to device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | This adds the COH 901 318 DMA controller to the U300 device tree. All devices now converted to device tree so far will start to find their DMA channels. Note that the U300 is not yet using the device tree to obtain DMA channels, but this is a first step. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: augment device tree with DMA channelsLinus Walleij2013-06-171-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | This adds DMA channel assignments to the MMC/SD-controller and the two UARTs already in the U300 device tree, as we have now defined a way to obtain DMA channels from the device tree. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* dma: coh901318: add devicetree supportLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+75
| | | | | | | | | | | This adds support for probing the COH 901 318 DMA controller and channels from the device tree. Contains portions of a sketch patch from Arnd Bergmann. Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: enable MMC/SD card from device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-171-0/+14
| | | | | | | This adds support for the U300 MMC/SD card slot from the device tree boot. No other changes needed. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: support regulators in the device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-171-0/+79
| | | | | | | | | | Now that we have enabled board power and the AB3100 regulators, put the regulator data into the device tree and enable it so we can start to tie regulators to devices. To begin with we're only supplying the power to the board itself. Cc: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: set up board power from device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-172-3/+52
| | | | | | | | | | This adds support for setting up the board power from the device tree on the U300. We use a board-specific node in the device tree for the S365 board and bind a regulator for the board power to this node. Cc: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: add RTC to device treeLinus Walleij2013-06-172-0/+9
| | | | | | This adds the COH 901 331 RTC to the U300 device tree. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* rtc: coh901331: add devicetree supportLinus Walleij2013-06-171-0/+6
| | | | | | | | This add devicetree probe support to the COH 901 331 RTC driver. Cc: Alessandro Zummo <a.zummo@towertech.it> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: add the COH 901 327 watchdog to device treeLinus Walleij2013-05-312-0/+9
| | | | | | This adds the COH 901 327 watchdog to the U300 device tree. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* watchdog: coh901327: devicetree supportLinus Walleij2013-05-312-3/+28
| | | | | | | | | This adds support for probing the COH 901 327 watchdog from the device tree and also adds associated bindings. Acked-by: Wim Van Sebroeck <wim@iguana.be> Reviewed-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: register I2C bus drivers from device treeLinus Walleij2013-05-312-0/+22
| | | | | | | This adds the two I2C busses to the device tree so these probe properly. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* i2c: stu300: device tree supportLinus Walleij2013-05-312-0/+27
| | | | | | | | This adds device tree support for the ST DDC I2C driver known as "stu300" in the kernel tree. Reviewed-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: basic device tree supportLinus Walleij2013-05-314-0/+177
| | | | | | | This register the most basic peripherals and makes the U300 boot to prompt from a device tree. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* pinctrl: coh901: add device tree supportLinus Walleij2013-05-312-2/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | This makes it possible to probe the COH901 pinctrl driver from the device tree, and assigned the device tree node in the gpio_chip so we can look up cross-references from the device tree. Start grabbing the per-port (bank) IRQs by index instead of by name so we don't have to look up the IRQs by name going forward. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* pinctrl: u300 device tree supportLinus Walleij2013-05-311-0/+7
| | | | | | | | This adds a simple device tree compat string for the U300 pin controller. The base address is already passed properly as a resource and everything works fine. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: device tree support for the timerLinus Walleij2013-05-314-38/+91
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds device tree support for the U300 timer, by making the memory base offset and IRQ dynamically assigned, then optionally looking them up from the device tree. Since the timer needs to be registered before any platform devices are created, we will go into the device tree and look up the "/timer@c0014000" node and read our base address and IRQ from there. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
* ARM: u300: enable delaytimer on the U300Linus Walleij2013-05-311-0/+11
| | | | | | | The U300 can support timer-based delays, so implement this. Skips past jiffy calibration. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>

He also discovered and fixed some bugs in doing so. When pulling in his patches, I also found a few minor bugs as well and fixed them. This also includes a compile fix for some archs that select the ring buffer but not tracing. I based this off of the last patch you took from me that fixed the merge conflict error, as that was the commit that had all the changes I needed for this set of changes." * tag 'trace-fixes-v3.10' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rostedt/linux-trace: tracing/kprobes: Support soft-mode disabling tracing/kprobes: Support ftrace_event_file base multibuffer tracing/kprobes: Pass trace_probe directly from dispatcher tracing/kprobes: Increment probe hit-count even if it is used by perf tracing/kprobes: Use bool for retprobe checker ftrace: Fix function probe when more than one probe is added ftrace: Fix the output of enabled_functions debug file ftrace: Fix locking in register_ftrace_function_probe() tracing: Add helper function trace_create_new_event() to remove duplicate code tracing: Modify soft-mode only if there's no other referrer tracing: Indicate enabled soft-mode in enable file tracing/kprobes: Fix to increment return event probe hit-count ftrace: Cleanup regex_lock and ftrace_lock around hash updating ftrace, kprobes: Fix a deadlock on ftrace_regex_lock ftrace: Have ftrace_regex_write() return either read or error tracing: Return error if register_ftrace_function_probe() fails for event_enable_func() tracing: Don't succeed if event_enable_func did not register anything ring-buffer: Select IRQ_WORK

| * ftrace: Fix the output of enabled_functions debug fileSteven Rostedt (Red Hat)2013-05-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The enabled_functions debugfs file was created to be able to see what functions have been modified from nops to calling a tracer. The current method uses the counter in the function record. As when a ftrace_ops is registered to a function, its count increases. But that doesn't mean that the function is actively being traced. /proc/sys/kernel/ftrace_enabled can be set to zero which would disable it, as well as something can go wrong and we can think its enabled when only the counter is set. The record's FTRACE_FL_ENABLED flag is set or cleared when its function is modified. That is a much more accurate way of knowing what function is enabled or not. Signed-off-by: Steven Rostedt <rostedt@goodmis.org>
| * ftrace: Fix locking in register_ftrace_function_probe()Steven Rostedt (Red Hat)2013-05-091-4/+6

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Both __trace_add_new_event() and __trace_early_add_new_event() do basically the same thing, except that __trace_add_new_event() does a little more. Instead of having duplicate code between the two functions, add a helper function trace_create_new_event() that both can use. This will help against having bugs fixed in one function but not the other. Cc: Masami Hiramatsu <masami.hiramatsu.pt@hitachi.com> Signed-off-by: Steven Rostedt <rostedt@goodmis.org>

Without this fix, adding and removing several different enable/disable_event triggers on the same event clear soft-mode bit from the ftrace_event_file. This also happens with a typo of glob on setting triggers. e.g. # echo vfs_symlink:enable_event:net:netif_rx > set_ftrace_filter # cat events/net/netif_rx/enable 0* # echo typo_func:enable_event:net:netif_rx > set_ftrace_filter # cat events/net/netif_rx/enable 0 # cat set_ftrace_filter #### all functions enabled #### vfs_symlink:enable_event:net:netif_rx:unlimited As above, we still have a trigger, but soft-mode is gone.
