* cpu: Partially revert "cpu: Change qemu_init_vcpu() argument to CPUState"Andreas Färber2013-07-291-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit c643bed99 moved qemu_init_vcpu() calls to common CPUState code. This causes x86 cpu-add to fail with "KVM: setting VAPIC address failed". The reason for the failure is that CPUClass::kvm_fd is not yet initialized in the following call graph: ->x86_cpu_realizefn ->x86_cpu_apic_realize ->qdev_init ->device_set_realized ->device_reset (hotplugged == 1) ->apic_reset_common ->vapic_base_update ->kvm_apic_vapic_base_update This causes attempted KVM vCPU ioctls to fail. By contrast, in the non-hotplug case the APIC is reset much later, when the vCPU is already initialized. As a quick and safe solution, move the qemu_init_vcpu() call back into the targets' realize functions. * gdbstub: Replace GET_REG*() macros with gdb_get_reg*() functionsAndreas Färber2013-07-271-27/+27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This avoids polluting the global namespace with a non-prefixed macro and makes it obvious in the call sites that we return. Semi-automatic conversion using, e.g., sed -i 's/GET_REGL(/return gdb_get_regl(mem_buf, /g' target-*/gdbstub.c followed by manual tweaking for sparc's GET_REGA() and Coding Style. | | | | | | | | | | | | | CPUState::gdb_num_regs replaces num_g_regs. CPUClass::gdb_num_core_regs replaces NUM_CORE_REGS. Allows building gdb_register_coprocessor() for xtensa, too. * cpu: Introduce CPUClass::memory_rw_debug() for target_memory_rw_debug()Andreas Färber2013-07-233-6/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | Make inline target_memory_rw_debug() always available and change its argument to CPUState. Let it check if CPUClass::memory_rw_debug provides a specialized callback and fall back to cpu_memory_rw_debug() otherwise. The only overriding implementation is for 32-bit sparc. This prepares for changing GDBState::g_cpu to CPUState. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>

* log: Change log_cpu_state[_mask]() argument to CPUStateAndreas Färber2013-07-093-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit 878096eeb278a8ac1ccd6667af73e026f29b4cf5 (cpu: Turn cpu_dump_{state,statistics}() into CPUState hooks) CPUArchState is no longer needed. Add documentation and make the functions available through qemu/log.h outside NEED_CPU_H to allow use in qom/cpu.c. Moving them to qom/cpu.h was not yet possible due to convoluted include paths, so that some devices grow an implicit and unneeded dependency on qom/cpu.h for now. * cpu: Drop unnecessary dynamic casts in *_env_get_cpu()Andreas Färber2013-07-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A transition from CPUFooState to FooCPU can be considered safe, just like FooCPU::env access in the opposite direction. The only benefit of the FOO_CPU() casts would be protection against bogus CPUFooState pointers, but then surrounding code would likely break, too. This should slightly improve interrupt etc. performance when going from CPUFooState to FooCPU. For any additional CPU() casts see 3556c233d931ad5ffa46a35cb25cfc057732ebb8 (qom: allow turning cast debugging off). * linux-user: Move cpu_clone_regs() and cpu_set_tls() into linux-userPeter Maydell2013-07-091-12/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The functions cpu_clone_regs() and cpu_set_tls() are not purely CPU related -- they are specific to the TLS ABI for a a particular OS. Move them into the linux-user/ tree where they belong. target-lm32 had entirely unused implementations, since it has no linux-user target; just drop them. * memory: add ref/unref callsPaolo Bonzini2013-07-041-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add ref/unref calls at the following places: - places where memory regions are stashed by a listener and used outside the BQL (including in Xen or KVM). - memory_region_find callsites - creation of aliases and containers (only the aliased/contained region gets a reference to avoid loops) - around calls to del_subregion/add_subregion, where the region could disappear after the first call Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
* cpu: Turn cpu_unassigned_access() into a CPUState hookAndreas Färber2013-06-283-10/+23
| | | | | | | Use it for all targets, but be careful not to pass invalid CPUState. cpu_single_env can be NULL, e.g. on Xen. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
* cpu: Change qemu_init_vcpu() argument to CPUStateAndreas Färber2013-06-281-3/+0
| | | | | | | | This allows to move the call into CPUState's realizefn. Therefore move the stub into libqemustub.a. Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
* cpu: Turn cpu_dump_{state,statistics}() into CPUState hooksAndreas Färber2013-06-282-2/+7

* memory: make section size a 128-bit integerPaolo Bonzini2013-06-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | So far, the size of all regions passed to listeners could fit in 64 bits, because artificial regions (containers and aliases) are eliminated by the memory core, leaving only device regions which have reasonable sizes An IOMMU however cannot be eliminated by the memory core, and may have an artificial size, hence we may need 65 bits to represent its size. * cpu: Replace do_interrupt() by CPUClass::do_interrupt methodAndreas Färber2013-03-125-3/+10
| | | | | | | | | | This removes a global per-target function and thus takes us one step closer to compiling multiple targets into one executable. It will also allow to override the interrupt handling for certain CPU families. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
* cpu: Move halted and interrupt_request fields to CPUStateAndreas Färber2013-03-122-3/+6
