* PPC: booke timersFabien Chouteau2011-10-061-1/+36
| | | | | | | | | | While working on the emulation of the freescale p2010 (e500v2) I realized that there's no implementation of booke's timers features. Currently mpc8544 uses ppc_emb (ppc_emb_timers_init) which is close but not exactly like booke (for example booke uses different SPR). * Add POWER7 support for ppcDavid Gibson2011-04-011-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This adds emulation support for the recent POWER7 cpu to qemu. It's far from perfect - it's missing a number of POWER7 features so far, including any support for VSX or decimal floating point instructions. However, it's close enough to boot a kernel with the POWER7 PVR. Signed-off-by: David Gibson <dwg@au1.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>
* powerpc: Make the decr interrupt type overridableEdgar E. Iglesias2010-09-241-1/+3
| | | | | | | | Make it possible for boards to override the kind of interrupt to be signaled when the decr timer hits. The 405's signal PIT interrupts while the 440's signal DECR. Signed-off-by: Edgar E. Iglesias <edgar.iglesias@gmail.com>
* PPC: Add PV hypercall transport through fw_cfgAlexander Graf2010-08-261-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | On KVM for PPC we need to tell the guest which instructions to use when doing a hypercall. The clean way to do this is to go through an ioctl from userspace and passing it on to the guest using the device tree. So let's do the qemu part here: read out the hypercall and pass it on to the guest's fw_cfg so openBIOS can read it out and expose it again. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>
* PPC: tell the guest about the time base frequencyAlexander Graf2010-02-141-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Our guest systems need to know by how much the timebase increases every second, so there usually is a "timebase-frequency" property in the cpu leaf of the device tree. This property is missing in OpenBIOS. With qemu, Linux's fallback timebase speed and qemu's internal timebase speed match up. With KVM, that is no longer true. The guest is running at the same timebase speed as the host. This leads to massive timing problems. On my test machine, a "sleep 2" takes about 14 seconds with KVM enabled. This patch exports the timebase frequency to OpenBIOS, so it can then put them into the device tree. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst@redhat.com>
* PPC: Use Mac99_U3 type on ppc64Alexander Graf2010-02-141-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The "Mac99" type so far defines a "U2" based configuration. Unfortunately, there have never been any U2 based PPC64 machines. That's what the U3 was developed for. So let's split the Mac99 machine in a PPC64 and a PPC32 machine. The PPC32 machine stays "Mac99", while the PPC64 one becomes "Mac99_U3". All peripherals stay the same. * PPC: Make DCR uint32_tAlexander Graf2009-12-211-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | For what I know DCR is always 32 bits wide, so we should also use uint32_t to pass it along the stacks. This fixes a warning when compiling qemu-system-ppc64 with KVM enabled, making it compile without --disable-werror Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Aurelien Jarno <aurelien@aurel32.net>
* Revert "Get rid of _t suffix"Anthony Liguori2009-10-011-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list. The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. Something like this _must_ be presented on the list first so people can provide input and cope with it. This reverts commit 99a0949b720a0936da2052cb9a46db04ffc6db29.
