* hw/i386: remove smram_updatePaolo Bonzini2015-06-051-6/+0
| | | | | | | | It's easier to inline it now that most of its work is done by the CPU (rather than the chipset) through /machine/smram and the memory API. Acked-by: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
* target-i386: use memory API to implement SMRAMPaolo Bonzini2015-06-051-16/+2
| | | | | | | | | Remove cpu_smm_register and cpu_smm_update. Instead, each CPU address space gets an extra region which is an alias of /machine/smram. This extra region is enabled or disabled as the CPU enters/exits SMM. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>

* pam: partly fix write-only modeHervé Poussineau2014-03-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In write-only mode, writes are forwarded to RAM, while reads should not be handled (ie should return 0xff). Assume that in this mode, no read access is ever done, as they shouldn't give any sensible result. So, in write-only mode, alias PAM region to RAM, instead of PCI memory (which can even be mapped to some device!) This fixes Award BIOS, which use this mode to shadow system BIOS and video BIOS.
