* Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddrAvi Kivity2012-10-231-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly, standards conformant hwaddr. Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]" | xargs s/target_phys_addr_t/hwaddr/g' origin Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
* hw: Fix return value check for bdrv_read, bdrv_writeStefan Weil2012-10-051-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Those functions return -errno in case of an error. The old code would typically only detect EPERM (1) errors. Signed-off-by: Stefan Weil <sw@weilnetz.de> Signed-off-by: Stefan Hajnoczi <stefanha@gmail.com>
* qom: Unify type registrationAndreas Färber2012-02-151-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Replace device_init() with generalized type_init(). While at it, unify naming convention: type_init([$prefix_]register_types) Also, type_init() is a function, so add preceding blank line where necessary and don't put a semicolon after the closing brace. * qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori2012-02-031-7/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in the tree. The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass registration functions. The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init function as appropriate. Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions, and type_register_static calls. We are almost fully converted to QOM after this commit. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
* sysbus: apic: ioapic: convert to QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori2012-01-271-13/+22
| | | | | | | This converts three devices because apic and ioapic are subclasses of sysbus. Converting subclasses independently of their base class is prohibitively hard. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
* vmstate, memory: decouple vmstate from memory APIAvi Kivity2012-01-041-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently creating a memory region automatically registers it for live migration. This differs from other state (which is enumerated in a VMStateDescription structure) and ties the live migration code into the memory core. Decouple the two by introducing a separate API, vmstate_register_ram(), for registering a RAM block for migration. Currently the same implementation is reused, but later it can be moved into a separate list, and registrations can be moved to VMStateDescription blocks. Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>

* hw/onenand: Remove unnecessary argument from onenand_command()Juha Riihimäki2011-08-281-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor onenand_command() -- since it is essentially a method of the device object, it doesn't make sense to pass in something as an argument which is one of the object's own member fields. * hw/onenand: program actions can only clear bitsJuha Riihimäki2011-07-301-29/+106
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The program actions onenand_prog_main() and onenand_prog_spare() can only set bits. This implies a rewrite of onenand_erase() to not use the program functions, since erase does need to set bits. * onenand: Handle various ID fields separatelyJuha Riihimäki2011-07-301-11/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Handle the manufacturer, device and version IDs separately rather than smooshing them all together into a single uint32_t. Note that the ID registers are actually 16 bit, even though typically the top bits are 0 and the Read Identification Data command only returns the bottom 8 bits. * Add endianness as io mem parameterAlexander Graf2010-12-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | As stated before, devices can be little, big or native endian. The target endianness is not of their concern, so we need to push things down a level. This patch adds a parameter to cpu_register_io_memory that allows a device to choose its endianness. For now, all devices simply choose native endian, because that's the same behavior as before. * qemu_ram_alloc: Add DeviceState and name parametersAlex Williamson2010-07-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | These will be used to generate unique id strings for ramblocks. The name field is required, the device pointer is optional as most callers don't have a device. When there's no device or the device isn't a child of a bus implementing BusInfo.get_dev_path, the name should be unique for the platform. * Revert "Get rid of _t suffix"Anthony Liguori2009-10-011-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list. The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. Something like this _must_ be presented on the list first so people can provide input and cope with it. This reverts commit 99a0949b720a0936da2052cb9a46db04ffc6db29. * kill drives_tableGerd Hoffmann2009-07-271-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | First step cleaning up the drives handling. This one does nothing but removing drives_table[], still it became seriously big. drive_get_index() is gone and is replaced by drives_get() which hands out DriveInfo pointers instead of a table index. This needs adaption in *tons* of places all over. The drives are now maintained as linked list. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
