* ide: Clean up includesPeter Maydell2019-11-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Clean up includes so that osdep.h is included first and headers which it implies are not included manually. This commit was created with scripts/clean-includes. * hw: Convert from BlockDriverState to BlockBackend, mostlyMarkus Armbruster2014-10-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Device models should access their block backends only through the block-backend.h API. Convert them, and drop direct includes of inappropriate headers. Just four uses of BlockDriverState are left: * The Xen paravirtual block device backend (xen_disk.c) opens images itself when set up via xenbus, bypassing blockdev.c. I figure it should go through qmp_blockdev_add() instead. * Device model "usb-storage" prompts for keys. No other device model does, and this one probably shouldn't do it, either. * ide_issue_trim_cb() uses bdrv_aio_discard() instead of blk_aio_discard() because it fishes its backend out of a BlockAIOCB, which has only the BlockDriverState. * PC87312State has an unused BlockDriverState[] member. The next two commits take care of the latter two. Signed-off-by: Markus Armbruster <armbru@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
* IDE: MMIO IDE device control should be little endianValentin Manea2014-09-101-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Set the IDE MMIO memory type to little endian. The ATA specs identify words part of the control commands encoded as little endian. While this has no impact on little endian systems, it's required for big endian systems(eg OpenRisc). * savevm: Remove all the unneeded version_minimum_id_old (rest)Juan Quintela2014-05-141-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After previous Peter patch, they are redundant. This way we don't assign them except when needed. Once there, there were lots of case where the ".fields" indentation was wrong: .fields = (VMStateField []) { and .fields = (VMStateField []) { Change all the combinations to: .fields = (VMStateField[]){ The biggest problem (appart from aesthetics) was that checkpatch complained when we copy&pasted the code from one place to another. * ahci: Don't allow creating slave drivesKevin Wolf2013-05-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | An IDE bus provided by AHCI can only take a single IDE drive. If you add a drive as slave, qemu used to accept the command line but the device wouldn't be actually usable. Catch the situation instead and error out. Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>

* Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddrAvi Kivity2012-10-231-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly, standards conformant hwaddr. Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]" | xargs s/target_phys_addr_t/hwaddr/g' origin Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

* Add endianness as io mem parameterAlexander Graf2010-12-111-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | As stated before, devices can be little, big or native endian. The target endianness is not of their concern, so we need to push things down a level. This patch adds a parameter to cpu_register_io_memory that allows a device to choose its endianness. For now, all devices simply choose native endian, because that's the same behavior as before. * Revert "Get rid of _t suffix"Anthony Liguori2009-10-011-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list. The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. Something like this _must_ be presented on the list first so people can provide input and cope with it. This reverts commit 99a0949b720a0936da2052cb9a46db04ffc6db29.
