This will make a number of things easier in the future, as well as (finally!)
avoiding the Id-smashing problem which has plagued developers for so long.
Boy, I'm glad we're not using sup anymore. This update would have been
insane otherwise.

- Add full prototypes, including to function pointers.
- Make the wire protocols 64-bit type safe, eg: 32 bit quantities are
int32_t, not long. The orginal rpc code was implemented when an int
could be 16 bits.
