* Change #ifdef KERNEL to #ifdef _KERNEL in the public headers. "KERNEL"peter1999-12-291-1/+1

* Cast pointers to uintptr_t/intptr_t instead of to u_long/long,bde1998-07-151-4/+4
| | | | | | | respectively. Most of the longs should probably have been u_longs, but this changes is just to prevent warnings about casts between pointers and integers of different sizes, not to fix poorly chosen types.
* Update kernel parts of pppd from 2.2.0 to 2.3.0. I've yet to look at thepeter1997-08-191-24/+30
| | | | | | | | | | 2.3.0 -> 2.3.1 changes, but I seem to recall that there are certain "issues" with 2.3.1 (I'm not sure if it's just pppd or the whole lot, I am not quite that far). The present pppd seems to work with it just fine for the time being. Among the changes are that zlib (aka LZ77 aka deflate aka gzip) compression is implemented as well as the original compress(1) LZW style.
* Fix this damn mbuf with a negative m_len. It turnsbrian1997-06-221-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | out to be a problem with VJ header compression. davidg spotted this in usr.sbin/ppp/slcompress.c a while ago, but I believe gave the wrong reasons - it's too easy to reproduce ! The only scenario that I've been able to reproduce the problem under is when m_len is *exactly* 40 ! So go figure ! PR: 3749 Submitted elsewhere by: davidg Obtained from: usr.sbin/ppp/slcompress.c

* Make the long-awaited change from $Id$ to $FreeBSD$jkh1997-01-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This will make a number of things easier in the future, as well as (finally!) avoiding the Id-smashing problem which has plagued developers for so long. Boy, I'm glad we're not using sup anymore. This update would have been insane otherwise.
* When cslip gets an uncompressed packet, it attempts to save off the TCP/IPdg1996-04-111-4/+11

If cslip gets garbage (such as what happens when there is a port speed mismatch or modem line noise), it will occasionally mistake the packet as a valid uncompressed packet. When it tries to save off the header, it doesn't bother to check for the validity of the header length and will happily clobber not only the cslip data structure, but parts of other kernel memory that happens to follow it...causing, ahem, undesired behavior.

* Fix up some sloppy coding practices:wollman1994-08-181-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | - Delete redundant declarations. - Add -Wredundant-declarations to Makefile.i386 so they don't come back. - Delete sloppy COMMON-style declarations of uninitialized data in header files. - Add a few prototypes. - Clean up warnings resulting from the above. NB: ioconf.c will still generate a redundant-declaration warning, which is unavoidable unless somebody volunteers to make `config' smarter.
