| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Fix device delete child function. When detaching device trees parent devices must be detached prior to detaching its children. This is because parent devices can have pointers to the child devices in their softcs which are not invalidated by device_delete_child(). This can cause use after free issues and panic(). Device drivers implementing trees, must ensure its detach function detaches or deletes all its children before returning. While at it remove now redundant device_detach() calls before device_delete_child() and device_delete_children(), mostly in the USB controller drivers. |/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add some new modes to OpenCrypto. These modes are AES-ICM (can be used for counter mode), and AES-GCM. Both of these modes have been added to the aesni module. Included is a set of tests to validate that the software and aesni module calculate the correct values. These use the NIST KAT test vectors. To run the test, you will need to install a soon to be committed port, nist-kat that will install the vectors. Using a port is necessary as the test vectors are around 25MB. All the man pages were updated. I have added a new man page, crypto.7, which includes a description of how to use each mode. All the new modes and some other AES modes are present. It would be good for someone else to go through and document the other modes. A new ioctl was added to support AEAD modes which AES-GCM is one of them. Without this ioctl, it is not possible to test AEAD modes from userland. Add a timing safe bcmp for use to compare MACs. Previously we were using bcmp which could leak timing info and result in the ability to forge messages. Add a minor optimization to the aesni module so that single segment mbufs don't get copied and instead are updated in place. The aesni module needs to be updated to support blocked IO so segmented mbufs don't have to be copied. We require that the IV be specified for all calls for both GCM and ICM. This is to ensure proper use of these functions. Obtained from: p4: //depot/projects/opencrypto Relnotes: yes Sponsored by: FreeBSD Foundation Sponsored by: NetGate TAG: IPSEC-HEAD Issue: #4841

| | | | | | | | | | | | | Fix undefined behavior: (1 << 31) is not defined as 1 is an int and this shifts into the sign bit. Instead use (1U << 31) which gets the expected result. Similar to the (1 << 31) case it is not defined to do (2 << 30). This fix is not ideal as it assumes a 32 bit int, but does fix the issue for most cases. A similar change was made in OpenBSD.

This code is particulary broken and fragile and other in-kernel implementations around, found in other operating systems, don't really seem clean and solid enough to be imported at all. If someone wants to reconsider in-kernel NTFS implementation for inclusion again, a fair effort for completely fixing and cleaning it up is expected. In the while NTFS regular users can use FUSE interface and ntfs-3g port to work with their NTFS partitions. This is not targeted for MFC.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | the NIC drivers as well as the PHY drivers to take advantage of the mii_attach() introduced in r213878 to get rid of certain hacks. For the most part these were: - Artificially limiting miibus_{read,write}reg methods to certain PHY addresses; we now let mii_attach() only probe the PHY at the desired address(es) instead. - PHY drivers setting MIIF_* flags based on the NIC driver they hang off from, partly even based on grabbing and using the softc of the parent; we now pass these flags down from the NIC to the PHY drivers via mii_attach(). This got us rid of all such hacks except those of brgphy() in combination with bce(4) and bge(4), which is way beyond what can be expressed with simple flags. While at it, I took the opportunity to change the NIC drivers to pass up the error returned by mii_attach() (previously by mii_phy_probe()) and unify the error message used in this case where and as appropriate as mii_attach() actually can fail for a number of reasons, not just because of no PHY(s) being present at the expected address(es).
